One of my sister's friends works for a software company out in LA, and he somehow found out that IGN gets paid off by Activision whenever a Call of Duty game comes out for good scores in their review. It gave me a good chuckle.

A little jizz never hurt anyone.
Especially when it's a Jizz Band!

I see this and know it happened but I can't help but wonder, why?

Stupid young kids thinking it's the greatest joke ever. I think that was about the extent of the thought that went into their 'fun'. :P

Disgusting. Seriously.

They should at least trim.

I used to ask these same questions until I saw a picture of a KFC employee bathing in a sink. There are no answers.

Haha. Agreed.

And for food places, I don't what possess people sometimes but there are always stories about stuff like this. Wish it were more uncommon, but sadly I suspect it's not.

SHOCKING

TCA one is obvious it even says in a disclaimer during the show the producers have the right to choose winners. Although they have taped acceptance speeches sometimes.

IGN is like the king of paid off review websites.

Anyways about funeral homes, pretty much everything in the post on the second page is true. Bought your funeral in the 70's? Too bad, you have to pay for inflation anyways when you die 40 years later.

One day, when it comes to that, I want to be buried but I don't want family to either a) go broke paying for that or b) use up all of my life insurance on that.

75% of people on twitter are fake. I used to work for a social media company, and spent all day creating and acting like people online to connect people to our clients and make them fans of their music/food/whatever. We also had a "blast" program where we could tweet stuff out from accounts to create trending topics. So most of that stuff is organized.

Interesting.

This is fairly common. About the only people I trust to be "real" include indie authors, researchers, some academics, some journalists, a few celebs and anyone who openly falls under the "community manager" category.

And then, of course, there's the rest of us.

"Paparazzi" are paid by the actor's/singer's movie/record companies. Its a long hidden trail of money, but ultimately, the money tmz and the dirtsheet mags have, comes from these companies.

Ever wonder why you never see a paparazzi taking pictures of famous people actually driving? Its a safety hazard(princess di). They plan out the "stops" (restaurants, etc) beforehand and "tip" the paparazzi off.

Some freelance/newer guys go overboard tho and violate property laws.

I worked as a contract reviewer for GS for several years. Focused mostly on RPGS -- very cost-efficient for them. It used to drive me nuts that no matter how hard or quickly I worked, if I were covering an Atlus game IGN would always "win" the day. The next Atlus newsletter/marketing materials would trumpet the IGN score (which was usually, but not always, a little on the high side to begin with), and my GS work would be largely ignored. This was true even when my scores were higher than IGN's -- and the material published first.

Didn't take me long to figure out what was what.

Someone should archive this entire thing as I suspect a lot of it will be deleted at some point. Anyway, very interesting stuff even though it's nigh impossible to verify.

If anything it proves greed is unquestionably humanity's greatest vice.

It's not even close.

I am flabbergasted at American Apparel. Holy shit, they are pretty much running an underage prostitution ring. That guy has to be lying. No fuckin way.

A friend of mine was flown to Dov's house with a bunch of other girls and she felt like she had been kidnapped when he wouldn't let her leave for her flight out of there. Luckily she did get out and all is well, but the things that go on in that house are fucked.

I'm generally pescetarian when I'm back at my own place, but reading the post about veal makes me feel real sick about the steaks I ate at my parents' place recently. : X

Edit: Apparently veal crates are banned in the UK, which I guess is slightly better. But still, ugh.

I've worked at Domino's for a while and I think everything is on the up-and-up there. The only thing that I guess irritates me is that our breadsticks and cinnastix are almost exactly the same, except for the powder that gets sprinkled onto them at the end. Same dough in the same shape, with the same butter-flavored oil on top.

The general managers are probably overworked for not enough money, but that's the worst employee treatment I can come up with.

I've also never seen anyone do anything gross to a food item, even if the customer is a known jerk-wad.

No argument there. The worst thing is, I really get the allure, but indulging in it is so destructive.

Examples? I'm honestly curious.

I work at a personal injury law firm.

I can't go into details because I'm on my phone, but we break a ton of ethical standards and often even laws, and every time I raise an objection I'm told that I don't have a legal license to lose if we get busted, so I don't have standing to complain.

I'm surprised that people are surprised at any of this. People are douchebags? Expected. Fuck your way into jobs or be raped, even while underaged? Gasp.

Reading that made me depressed and jaded to the point where honestly, global nuclear war might be an improvement from the absolute horseshit that goes on behind the scenes.

I worked at a Dominos for over two years in Iowa City, when I was in college, and my experience was the same. No one there would ever consider fucking with the food. Say what you will about the food quality in general, it was a well run place. (That goes for my experience at Arby's as well, they did a good job with food standards. The Hardees....not so much.)

OKAY. Someone tell me what's up with Dan Schneider. He had better not touched Victoria Justice OR ELSE.

Yeah, fuck the innocent too.

I got one, that veal you pay 18 dollars for at a Italian restaurant is mostly likely pork, it's cheaper & more tender and once breaded and fried you won't know the difference

So, now we have a fucked up humanity that's now dealing with radiation that won't go away for 1000 years.

Great.

Not surprised about the Hollywood thing. There are scores of books published about the debauchery that goes on there going way back to the movie industry's inception.

Still, it's shitty to hear about. All of it.
