RedSunGamer - Japanese Gaming Life

Listening to the newest episode right now. Not too far into it but love hearing about everyone's first purchase upon moving to Japan. Especially DCharlie and Cheesemeister...made me feel nostalgic since I was living in Nagoya as a student around the time period you both first arrived. I actually can't remember for sure what my first game purchase was but I think it was either Super Street Fighter II on the GBA or Wario Land Advance (aka Wario Land 4).

The joy of RSG is that a lot of the time it feels like everyone is in the same room. There have been a few new members over the last while, but honestly, no one has sounded out of place or anything.
With Skype it's the pauses that stand out most. I'd suggest video conferences to alleviate the invisible talking stick issues (Japanese internet should be up to the task, right?), but I'm, uh, not so sure about that now...

Not sure I wanna see Eric sitting in his pants whilst trying to record a podcast, those kind of images can only take me in 1 direction...the gutter!

I want to try local recording but the last time I tried it I had massive issues with syncing the audio of 4/5 feeds, I'll try it again in the near future.

I guess I could put on clothes for the sake of the podcast.

But doesn't multi person video Skype cost money?

Wait, there are two new episodes? Weird - they downloaded on instacast on my ipod touch but not on my phone's podcast player (where I listen to podcasts). I'll need to investigate this...

Anyway, love the podcast. Keep up the great work!

On the latest episode I had to mute my mic every time he and DC said HD.
Still gets me every time.

After reading the Neogaf podcast-of-the-year results I've been trying a couple of new ones I hadn't listened to and RSG was one of them so early in the morning I started the latest episode with the intention of only listening to the first 15 minutes or so and then get to work, but instead I just lay on the couch listening to it in its entirety. I don't care much for Wii U talk per say but my gaming taste in general seems to align with the RSG cast more than, say, the Giant Bombcast. Needless to say, I'm going to listen to some older episodes and subscribe so keep up the good work.

Yes... YEEEEESSSSSSSS.

Thank you very muchly! <3

I listened to the two most recent episodes, and am now making my way through the backlog, in reverse chronological order. Listening to podcasts in reverse order is always an unusual experience. :P

Love the shows so far.

Good!

And please, I think any P4 fans want to know what the book is actually about. I know I'm looking forward to it!
Yeah do it =D; was the novel penned as canon though?
And can't wait for the next RSG, from the tweets I saw I'm guessing DJmizuhara will have plenty to rant about... Can't think of anything to say but sorry your in-laws are rather backwards in their thinking.
And I hope your medication are working for you now.

Edit: Will you also be getting back into Anarchy Reigns/Max Anarchy? Seeing as it's just being released into Europe and America; and it seems GAF communities will keep it alive for a while?

Huh, don't know what to make of this. It would be too bad if RSG is gone. I guess I shouldn't pry on why though. It is an entirely voluntary podcast, a free treat so to speak.

And there goes the RSG twitter account :(

I hope he keeps the website up for a little while, just so people can grab past episodes if they want. In honor of RSG ending I tracked down online the first time I ever heard DJ on a podcast - PS Nation Episode 73: Married Life in Japan (august 2008... oh wow it's been awhile) and I'm listening at work

Thanks for the memories. You're one of the best podcasters out there. Good luck in whatever is next

The YouTube account is still standing too.

Man, I want to rush home a d download all the past episodes I never listened to. I only caught on to the podcast when they had their Vita launch live stream.

He did tweet about his family having problems with his gaming habits a bit back, maybe it's related to that.

Regardless of the circumstances, thanks for running it as long as you did.
