Behind The Games
Hey guys,
I just posted the first part of a three-part video interview I taped with Reggie Fils-Aime. Are you looking for news? Well, with Reggie, it's always more about how he answers something than what he says, as he kept pretty close to the party line.
He talks "Mario Kart," "Smash Brothers," "Endless Ocean," ("It has all of the Zen of scuba-diving, which is relaxing and melodic.") "Project Hammer" and defends Nintendo's decision to show relatively few games at E3. And he proposes a golf game for the Wii Balance board and crushes the hopes of all who applied to be his assistant a few months back when he says:
"I received quite a few bizarre résumés and requests...I think all you need to do is still look at those active 'Reggie-lution' sites and all the things that are going on. Folks had this vision that they would be able to hang out and spend time with Mr. Iwata and Mr. Miyamoto or whatever the case may be. There's a lot more work than simply hanging out and playing games."
Check the video here (the usual apologies: video only plays for U.S. residents)
Part two will hopefully be live tomorrow. In that one we talk about whether Nintendo shows more love for Japanese gamers/developers than the company does for Americans.
EDIT: Part two is now live: http://multiplayerblog.mtv.com/2007/07/25/video-exclusive-nintendos-reggie-fils-aime-part-two-does-nintendo-favor-japanese-gamers-and-developers/
