This is just to remind you all of what will be happening today and when. Reginald Fils-Aime, Nintendo of America's Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing, will hold a 45-minute keynote speech entitled ´Expanding the Market for Interactive Entertainment´ at the D.I.C.E. summit in Nevada. i'm expecting a media blowout for dslite, although that's already happened with those manky unofficial pics, but i hope, really, really, hope, we get a new zelda trailer.

we've been waiting for new nintendo info since tgs, and we've already seen a bit of tp, so it's not like you're revealing anything super secret.

come on nintendo, give us a few crumbs, we're starving here!
 
I'm doubtful of a new Zelda Trailer, I think it will be mostly DS (BrainTraining US , wi-fi etc)

I would assume a Metoid Prime Hunters blowout is likely. It's not a game Nintendo will promote that much in Japan (so I doubt it would be a big highlight of Japans press conference next week) so this seems the ideal moment considering how close the release is and how little footage has been shown.

Assuming this is true, it's probably just the official DS Lite announcement.
 
Do you folks know what DICE is? It's like small industry gathering (400-500 industry execs only) where they like play golf and drink and give developer post-mortems on their games, and maybe the odd rallying speech to the industry.

It's not really the kind of media event where they debut game trailers.
 
One of my co-workers dates this chick that knows a guy whose second cousin works in the same building as a guy that has his own Nintendo Revolution blog.

SURPRISE REV LAUNCH, SEGA SATURN STYLE!!1!11!one BELIEVE!!!!

But seriously --- a DSlite blowout, a new Zelda trailer, and maybe a morsel of new info about the Rev would make my day.

i really wouldn't get hopes up, if there is anything game related iwata will more than likely reveal it at gdc in march, especially since tp is looking more and more likely to launch around the time of rev.

Upon closer inspection it seems Reggie Fils-Aime managed to drop a few hints regarding the release date for "The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess" in the latest issue of EGM. To anyone who has been living in denial regarding the game's importance to Revolution, the reality is contained in the words below.

EGM: Speaking of Zelda, best-case scenario, it's a few months away from the Revolution launch, worst case scenario is it's coming out at the same time. Is there ever a point where you believe that it would be better to switch it over to Revolution? Or does it not matter, since the Revolution will be backward compatible with Cube games?

Reggie: Exactly. I think that our senior management has made it very clear that bringing Zelda: Twilight Princess out on GameCube is important, that we want to satisfy the GameCube fan base and have it be on that system. You've said the obvious, which is that [because] Revolution's backward compatible, it will almost effectively be a launch title for Revolution. The trick will be what makes it special to play on Revolution, and to the extent that we could create something like that, boy, wouldn't that be fantastic? Certainly one of the things that I would love to see is something that makes Zelda, when it's played on Revolution, do something magical. And I think that any Nintendo fan would love to see that.

the reply refers to the rumor of an with revolution included mario paint that allows you to make your own simple games and share them via wifi connection (don't believe that but it would be marvellous).

if this guy from man!ac is legit we definitely can expect a trailer - man!ac is a very trustworthy magazine.

QFT, there's nearly nothing Reggie couldn't say that Wright couldn't demolish with even just a simple update to his GDC presentation last year. That was the best presentations in game design I've ever seen.

Really? I find that anything Wright can do Nintendo can do better. Animal Crossing is more fun than The Sims and Spore looks about as fun as watching mold cultures grow.
