Remedy is adding support for PS4 in Northlight engine

Well then I hope it is Alan Wake 2 then.

As much as Iwoukd love that go be the case since Alan Wake is one of my favorite games of all time despite it's flaws it just doesn't seem like more Alan Wake is in the cards.

If Remedy did a kickstarter for Alan Wake 2 I would spend an embarrassing amount of money on it.

I remember paying for the most expensive version of the first game (the one with the book and commentary and cool shit), and then being first in line on launch night.

I was happy to see so many others waiting in line, but then I remembered RDR came out on the same day, and I was one of two people picking up the game at midnight.

:/

Yeah that was not a good day to launch on.

I have the 360 collectors edition as well as the Steam version, American Nightmare on 360 and Steam, the guide book, the making of book (I got the two books in a bundle on Amazon), the novelization and I've gifted the game to several people on PC. I'm the perfect kick starter sucker for Remedy to suck a bunch of money out of.

All the Quantum Break hate is upsetting me :(
I thought the gameplay/combat in QB was better than Alan Wake but I found the story, characters and setting to be very uninteresting compared to Alan Wake. I also found the live action episodes to be pretty boring and way too long. I don't mind some story between game chapters but they were way too long. I should of skipped them but I was hoping they would get me more interested in the story but they never did.

more max payne, less alan wake/quantum break please.

they've got a lot to prove for me personally and i'm not exactly hopeful this will be it. but who knows.

Microsoft should've locked down Remedy. Just like they should've locked down Bioware and kept Bungie. Hindsight is always 20/20 tho. I love Their games. Didn't like Quantum Break as much but that last boss fight had a lot to do with it

Cool, hopefully this means their next game is multiplat.

Would make sense too. Quantum Break didn't sell that well and got some mixed reviews, combine that with the fact that MS doesn't seem to be interested in investing in story dirven single player games anymore and I could see how their relationship with remedy isn't as good as it used to be. Not saying bad, but mabye not "invest millions for you to make your next game" type of good

They dodged a bullet with that one. Bungie can be argued as well as Destiny was their worst game yet quality wise.

but stephen king has all sorts of adventures in that spoopy forest :(

if they return to alan wake i honestly think they need a protagonist that's less of an arse. and some encounter designs that aren't all the same. alan wake (and quantum break) are like, perfect examples of good ideas poorly executed imo. the combat itself was ok (although there was a major lack of enemy variety) but just count how many times you drop down a non traversable ledge into an ambush. it all feels so lazy and predictable, only made worse by the way you find pages that explain what's about to happen.

Give me more of this

Wow this kind of another big loss for Microsoft as per thier platform defining exclusives.

Remedy's title output has been low. But there is no doubt they were making some of the best IPs on the Xbox platform.

Remedy going multi platform. NICE.

I'll be there day one on Scorpio. They are incredibly talented. I hope they branch out into another genre.

Lord knows I could use a Max Payne successor by the people that actually made Max Payne. No offense to R*, MP3 was still a great game.
I want this so bad.

Edit: a new Quantum Break would also be fucking amazing. Seeing those gifs reminded me of how brilliant that game was.

Quantum Break was a quality game and georgeous to boot, but the TV stuff detracted for a lot of people and the overall package was a bit content light. That's a game that does deserve a sequel to close the story.

I'll never forget Alan Wake was one of the reasons I got a 360 and then how disappointed I was. And Quantum Break was...a novel idea I'd rather not revisit.

But Remedy is still a developer I think has a great level of talent and I'm sure P7 will be fascinating no matter what it ends up being. Will wait with anticipation at the P7 reveal.

Microsoft should have bought them, their first-party team roster is about half of Sony's.

Microsoft wishes it was even half of Sony's at this point. They need some serious re-investment in first party outside of Gears, Forza and Halo and the occasional five year game from Rare.

I feel like this has been known for a while, but good to get confirmation. After Bioware went multiplatform and my interest in Gears severely dropped they were the main reason I still had an xbox

Make Remedy great again ....It's been a long time since one of their titles delivered as much as they touted it to be...Hopefully going multiplat removes any reigns on them and perhaps they can work more freely, not limited by any piece of hardware....

For their sake, I do hope they hit one out of the park...Their game concepts have always been good, but it has not always been pieced together well in the end....We need all developers here, so I hope they don't hype this one to kingdom come but instead focus on great/varied and polished gameplay.....for their next game..

I also hope they don't reduce the graphical quality for their next game from initial trailers to release....This time around both the Pro and Scorpio are powerful enough that they're not bolted by a 1.31TF machine...

When was the last good game from Remedy though ? They need to get back on track, because honestly I love what they did with Max Payne and Alan Wake.
