Remember Another World? It's back and supports higher resolutions (dl link on pg 8)

I don't think the game needs a sequel. The ending was perfect, because mysterious, and because you could understand it your way. At that time, I really liked this idea.

Well, actually, it had a "sequel", called Heart of the Alien, released on Sega CD only(God only knows why). It was more of a side story, it was set during the same story of the first game, but you played as your alien buddy and saw the story through his eyes, sort of. I didn't really like it to be honest, some of the stuff in that game doesn't jive with the events of the first one...and it just wasn't as good or memorable anyway.

P.S. People that have only played the SNES version should really consider ahem getting the PC version. It's just better. :P

Out of this World is still my and my friends #1 rated game of alltime. I hope you are not fuckin with us... I am super excited to hear what's in store. Calling friends now to let 'em know our dream may be materializing! :D

I must have died at least a hundred times trying to get past those stupid worms...

Edit:

Haha, I loved that scene. :D

haha..
Poor poor Blim...

The speculation are getting out of hand maybe...
UBIsoft involvment?
A movie?
A broadway show?
Game related at all?
Only for portables?
PC only?

Hopefully we will hear something in the coming days or maybe this is the new Rev slogan: "Rev; Another world"...

I kid I kid..:)

Is Ubi going to do the same to Another World than they did to Prince of Persia? I'd love if they did!

Just for you, JJ, I'm going to take the hit and bust my NDA. At least I still have my credibility, right?

Not really comparable either. Another world was developed by one guy all alone, doing everything on the game except the sound effects. Flashback was done by a big (for that period at least) team using Chahi's work as an inspiration.

well yeah, but both games had the same style. I am a fan of both...

I definitely remember this one. A true classic in every sense... Simply mindblowing when I saw it for the first time on my Amiga. <3 Delphine

another world was of my fav amiga games ever, the atmoshpere, the emotional connection that the game created with the player, the style, the characters...it was truly a classic. i wish monseigneur blim would spill the beans and we could know who are are working on the new version.

GBA version was hot. And free.

I also have the Sega CD (was it?) version that includes Out of this World and its sequel, Heart of the Alien, I think it was called.

That.....that thought just got me aroused.

Have creative consultation and concept art by Eric Chahi. A regular version, and a deluxe version with a 199 page book full of original artwork, with a walkthrough. Ooh, and a code that unlocks the full original game of Another World, only using the new 3D engine. Ooooooh, yes baby - and a bonus level where you and the alien are trapped in a room with monsters, and you have to stay alive as long as you can - Smash TV style! Oooh oooh.......

*fap*

Eric Chahi is of course involved. I wouldn't have mentioned this if he wasn't.
Anyway, good night :)

This was a pretty cool game, even though I never made it very far. That monster was scary as hell. Maybe it will pop up on the Rev's VC? XBL Arcade would be cool too.

i knew i remembered something about rev and another world

Eric Chahi - Creator of "Another world" (remember that kickass game?)
"The thing that most excites me about the next-gen is] Nintendo Revolution's spatial interface, because interface is the communications bottleneck between player and program. Any improvement in this direction is better than drawing an extra zillion polygons."

I would love to see a game done in Another World's style on a current console or PC. Keep it 2D, and use the extra processing power to just make the animations super smooth and detailed. Man, it's such a great look, it's really a shame that more games haven't used that vector-based approach. It could look amazing.

Holy shit that was a great game and soooo ahead of it's time!

I'd even take a full 3D remake if it's having the graphics exaclty like the artwork in the first page. That's be so awesome!!!

Holy crap.

Funny thing about this game is that the main character looks 100% like a friend of mine.

:lol Holy cow, this game is awsome. I can already tell I'm going to have a lot of fun with it. I checked to see if it was on my xbox, and it was. It took me dying about 13 times before learning that you can kick them instead of having to jump over them. And you guys are saying this was all done by one guy? In 1990? The animation is amazing, it probably took him a few years. More info on this Chahi guy, please. Also, where can I find the pc/gba version?

one of my fav games of all time, along with flashback. i sure hope you're talking about a "remake" with revamped graphics and not just emulation. cause many of us still have the original game.

You ever play the sequel to Flashback?

Great, but I'm not so... sure about a Japanese company making it... seems a bit.. wrong.

I know there was a sequal. I was trying to be sarcastic in that the sequal sucked and pretended that it never came out.

Oh come on, it wasn't THAT bad. Though hardly a benchmark in 3d gaming.

No, the Sega CD version included both games on one disc.

Truth. The Sega CD sequel contained the complete original game as well. Hell, I just looked at the monstrous CD case, and it has a subtitle.

Heart of the Alien: Out of this World Parts 1 and 2

I can snap pics, if I must.

I played it on Genesis first. I should mention that Heart of the Alien was very disappointing, although I never got very far in it.
