Remote Play on Xperia is fantastic

Good to hear! I was going to buy day one, but dissapointed that Tmobile doesn't have it in white.

My Z1s is still the best phone I've ever had. Hopefully the white Is released soon so I can make the jump.

I just got my Z3 in today and came home excited to remote play across my house.

It can't even stream for 2 seconds without hiccup in sound and picture. I pull out my vita in the exact same spot and it's flawless.

WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

Hopefully they bring this feature to iOS at some point. Would be cool playing PS4 games on my iPad/iPhone with a DS4.

Anything keeping them from bringing a remote play app to iOS?

I imagine Sony wants to use this opportunity to push Xperia sales, there's no technical reason this shouldn't work beautifully with iOS devices.

I was having issues connecting Vita directly to my PS4 so I ran a 50ft cable down into my basement and back up into another room where my PS4 is just to get direct connection to the router. Now my Vita works perfectly for Remote Play anywhere in the house. I'd say this is 100% the best route to take!

Thanks, GMouse, will try this tonight.

Sony pushing remote play on vita but still no DS4 connectivity still baffles me.

Yeah, I wonder why they forbid to just control the PS4 with the controller and just stream the video. Same on my Z3 tablet, it is a nuisance because I have to repair the controller to the PS4 after playing on the tablet.

A) they don't want to and b) you wouldn't be able to pair a Dual Shock 4 with an iOS device because of Apole's DRM enforcing their rentseeking on controllers, in spite of it working perfectly on jailbroken devices.

They want to push their smartphones and tablets and don't care much about the Vita, so it makes sense.

Not really, the only thing it achieves is annoying current Vita owners. Controller support isn't going to sway many new owners and no Vita owners are going to specifically go out and get a Sony smartphone just so they can use a DS4.

Just bought an Xperia today too totally out of the blue as my shitty Galaxy Y died. Think it may not be compatible though as it's an M series, C1905.

I'm a Vita owner and I'm going to go out and get a Sony Z3 tablet just so I can use a DS4.

Just found out the Z3 comes with a Screen Record function so you can record your PS4 gameplay on your phone. Awesome!

Unless I did it wrong, it doesn't appear to work. Tried recording some TLOUR, but just got a black screen with audio only in the recording.

Does Share functionality still work properly in Remote Play?

Hmm. When I read the update sheet for the latest Z2 update, Sony themselves mentioned it was possible.

I've owned a Z2 since spring. Bell twitter rep said they had no information about pushing Android 4.4.4 coming to Z2 phones. No information about "if", let alone when.

Sony said it's up to the carriers.

I just received the update for my Danish Z2 on 3. GB can't be far behind. You might want to run Sony's update checker manually and search for it though.

So yeah, Three CS UK they're is no info about when our if they plan to roll out 4.4.4.

Is there a way to just do this myself?

I really want the z3 tablet but sony does not have the mount for the ps4 controller. Does anyone know if there is an off brand mount I can by? I see some for the PS3 on amazon. Would they work?

I ordered a nyko one, will let you know if it works

DS4 remote play on Vita would be awesome. Or, wait, woah, PS TV controls in Vita games when using a DS4. That would be kick ass. But even if only in remote play that'd be sweet. Also sell a clip.

Neat, but share functions still work while remote playing, you could just use the share button. I tested it out while doing PS TV remote play.

oh cool, got the update on the z2 tablet, and the remote play app from the play store.
but i guess until my upload speed is better than the crappy 0.7mbit i won´t be able to really use this.

For anyone looking to buy the new Z3 in states unlocked, here is you chance.

Good thing about this is that it will support AT&T for those felling left out, more color choices, faster updates that won't have to be delayed by carriers, and an unlocked bootloader. The only negative I can see is the price, but if you money isn't an issue, this is one of the best Android phones in the market.

Thanks, I won't buy one unless I can connect a controller to it. I want one for remote play and emulation.

Ok, so I just tried it out. It works and definitely holds the tablet. However, Sony, in their infinite wisdom, put the power button and volume button in the dead center on the side of the tablet. For this mount, that means it covers the volume button if you center the tablet on the controller. It still holds the tablet if it's off-center, but that's obviously a pain and the easiest way is to just cover the volume. I'd recommend waiting for the Sony mount (although who knows how a suction cup will hold up long term...), but this is cheap enough that I really don't care. I think it was like $9 when I bought it.

I'm using casing with my Z Ultra, so there's a padding around power button and volume button.
