Repetitive Animations/Phrases in Games that Annoy you.

Some of them annoy me at first, but then become something of a comfort.

'Masterworks all, you can't go wrong' in Dragon's Dogma

'You've a heart of gold, don't let them take it from you' in Demon's Souls for example

Like, normally I'd expect conversations with those NPCs to end with one of 5 or so lines of dialogue, but its the same every time. And I'm glad it is.

Masterworks all is my vote for most annoying repetitive thing in a game.

Everything in a first person perspective has gotten to be quite annoying and tiresome.

Generic phrases used by enemies:

"He's here!"
"I got shot!"
"He killed one of us!"
"Find him and kill him!"
^ Rinse and repeat.

COD: AW campaign comes to mind.

I'm not as hard on Skyward Sword as most folks, but damn: this. We'll get it if you just tell us once, thanks.

For all the folks saying Xenoblade, I can't get behind that. Repetitive? Yes. But for some inexplicable reason, I was always really feeling Reyn time.

Tmnt (2007?) Xbox 360 game based on the animated movie. Mikey yells "Supersensationalistic bro!" For almost everything he does including jumpa. Ill never forget that phrase.

Try playing the Dragon Age Inquisition multiplayer with 3 other players. The dialogue between the characters is so repetitive and sounds like everyones just talking to themselves.

The KotOR games had some pretty bad voicework for the alien characters, they'd basically repeat three gibberish sentences over and over in Huttese and Ithorian varieties. It's kind of annoying but not too bad, because you can just skip through most of it anyway.

Then BioWare decided to put in a sidequest in the first game where you attempt to communicate with a little girl stowaway who has been living for years as a slave in a Mandalorian camp and only speaks pidgin Mandalorian. Which is just a couple of phrases from the female Huttese dialogue. This is more or less how the conversation with the girl goes:

player: oh hey who are you and why are you eating my food
girl: MUCHA SHAKA PAKA
player: how did you get here
girl: [Female Huttese Soundclip #2 which I've thankfully forgotten]
player: ok i dont understand, is that some form of mandalorian you speak
girl: MUCHA SHAKA PAKA
player: [goes through a bunch dialogue options to learn how to speak to her, with one of the two sound clips playing for her lines in between]
player: okay we're friends now and I can take you to this jedi who will take care of you
girl: MUCHA SHAKA PAKA
player (in real life): facepalm

That stupid bear from Freedom Wars, (propa something) he keeps repeating the same shit over and over through the PA its so annoying
The worst part is since the game is sub only and there aren't any subtitles when he says this I have no idea what he's even saying

I came to post exactly this. This and the repetitive talking animations.

Also, Carth stop waving those guns around...

"Moons...! GIve me strength!"

Pretty much single-handedly ensured that I've basically never used magic besides healing in any playthrough of Skies of Arcadia.

Wall touching in Uncharted 3, They had a bit of it in Uncharted 2 and it was cool, U3 went overboard with it. They toned it down with TLOU.

"You must gather your party before venturing forth"
"You must gather your party before venturing forth"

With love, Baldur'sGate2

Every Hearthstone card, especially the "For the x!" battlecries:

For the king!
For the crusade!
For honour!
For justice!
For the Alliance!
For Nazjatar!
For the warchief!
For Hellscream!
For science!
For the Horde!
For the Lich King!
For Kel'Thuzad!
For the Warsong!
For the wild!
For Quel'Thalas!

Fucking seriously?

I read the title of this thread and I already started hearing those alien lines repeating in my head.

Delsins running animation bothered me
in second son. I thought it was pretty poor and I normally don't care about stuff like that. It felt like two slightly janky animations smashed together and repeated.

Probably not as bad as some of the examples already in the thread. But it's the most recent thing that comes to mind.

In Watch_Dogs, when you pull over to park on the side of the road (where other cars are parked) NPCs always say some kind of "He's crazy" "Maniac". If I was on the sidewalk..okay but usually not even close.

Slightly cheating, but:

♪ Yeah, make out the true lies
Only if you realize
Hearing nobody's lies
To be sterilized
Stop and get it out
World better keep it bad
World changer, it's a smarter way, because ♪

If those aren't the actual words, they might as well be.

Playing SMT IV and everything Burroughs says is quite annoying.
"The quest is going well" at inappropriate times every quest.
"What will you do master?" at every opportunity, arghh!

Courage is the magic that turns dreams into reality.
*flashback to when the line was first said*
Courage is the magic that turns dreams into reality.

dragon's dogma, really depends on your mood.

if you have a high level mage, it's usually not as bad. it mostly goes like this:

"they're weak to fi..."

*meteor shower noise*

*choir song continues to play*

rinse repeat.

Spider-Man 1 and 2 on PS1 were expect ally bad about this, lol. "I'll POUND ya!" "I'll POUND ya!" I'll PO- I'll POUND ya!"

Also Eggman's "GET A LOAD OF THIS"
