Republican Debate 4 [Fox Business] Kapow!

Didn't Carson say in the CNN debate that regarding the minimum wage, that there should be one that is determined by an impartial group of experts that then adjusts with the economy each year?

He's against raising the minimum wage on a national level by the extent that people wish for it to ($15). He is against it because he believes that raising it to that extent would cause a loss of jobs that would hurt the poor. And that general sentiment is what the other candidates on that stage have as well.

I fail to see how not raising the minimum wage is inherently un-Christian. Yes, you could argue that it is because it hurts the poor, but what if, perhaps, a person believes that help for the poor should come from forces outside of the government, forcing that responsibility on actual people rather than on an abstract force that doesn't have an exact face (aka the government)? These are Republicans after all, and generally speaking, they seek a smaller form of government as the ideal. I don't see how that's an inherently wrong way of going about things. It's just a different one.

BTW, I don't endorse Ben, I think a flat tax isn't helpful, and I think he'd make a poor president, but saying he's hypocritical because he doesn't believe a $15 minimum wage is a little ridiculous, in my opinion.

Being rich and being Christian is hypocritical. Not sure how it's not. I can quote the New Testament over and over again about that.

Giving more to the poor and disenfranchised is indeed Christian. Saying it's ridiculous that pointing out he's a hypocrite when he's the first to talk about God is ridiculous.

Oh god that was a hilarious few minutes. I am laughing so hard going back through the reaction lol. The blast, the victory music, perfection.

Lol, Trump got destroyed on that.

That said, China is the main reason for the TPP - if not in it. Trump is pretty much dead on w/r/t China currently wrecking America's shit when it comes to trade (best part is that they're doing the same thing America did to Europe during the Industrial Era...and we're making the same mistakes Europe did); but lord, he stepped into it amazingly.

Who are they so afraid of that America's military needs to be even bigger/better?

I don't understand the constant increase in military when you are THE world power by a large margin, yet there are people living on or below the poverty line.

Guess who pays the bill for most of their campaigns and does the lobbying? Companies wanting lucrative military contracts.

I love how Rand stands at the end so casually and faces the other guys.
He's so calm when speaking too just knowing they're idiots.

Love rand Paul.

He's so nuts, but sometimes he just hits w truth bombs. Did it in the past debate regarding marijuana.

Ultimately, that's why I respect him so much. I disagree with many of his policies, but he is easily the most genuine in the GOP field.

That was rough to watch, and is the #1 reason why most reasonable conservatives don't want Trump as the nominee. You honestly think he can debate with Hillary in a general election on specific policy? Dude had to get saved by the moderator from Paul.

Trump got his soul sucked out because he doesn't understand policy. Carson and Fiorina are in the same boat. They'll get their lunch eaten by any establishment candidate when it comes to debating about policy, even on a surface level.

Trump was talking about how TPP let China get away with currency manipulation. Rand said China isn't in the deal. Hero music started playing while Rand was talking.

It reminded me of the music that plays when Phoenix Wright finds the piece of evidence that lets him win a case.

The fact I dislike Paul but can agree with him on quite a few things certainly says a lot about the rest of field.

It fails to acknowledge that inflation devalues the dollar year to year, so raising the minimum wage is MANDATORY if the intent is to keep the purchasing power equivalent. At present it hasn't moved since 2009 and historically it's overdue.

Otherwise, if we never raised it the minimum wage would still be around $1.00 an hour or whatever and be effectively useless.
