Resident Evil 6 DEMO VER. Thread: Capcom's final chance for redemption

I'm sure it's better than Retribution.

RE Degeneration is on Netflix... it's not anything really great, but I found it to be watchable. It's better than the awful Alice movies at least. How can I watch Damnation if I don't have Zune... is anyone else going to have this in the near future? If so... Ah! I'll buy it at a high price.

But in Leons part of the Demo the zombies stay on the floor, and you can stumble if you try to run through their corpses!

The Zombie-Zombies not the dudes who burst in to flames when you kill them?

Shame if they do. I thought the zombie-zombies in the demo stayed there when you killed them.

Why do you call them zombie-zombies? They're zombies. The other guys are J'avo, which seems to be pronounced as joo-ah-voh or something.

Anyway, the disappearing bodies don't bother me much if they disappear in some animation and don't just vanish. The zombie bodies disappeared in the original RE when you left rooms and came back so it's not a big deal. REmake was the only exception and it wasn't continued so...

For anyone who wants to see Resident Evil Damnation, it is now available for purchase on Zune, which will give you access for it on a Zune player on your PC and on the Xbox 360.

It is related to Resident Evil 6 as it builds up and takes place right before the start of RE6, and has Leon, Ada, and Simmons in it.

There is a new trailer... Wait is that Mr. X ?

other games just PSN codes ? nvm, would have bought them on disc.

That did look like Mr. X. And if I remember, those were somewhat mass produced, since he was dropped from one of those containers and there were several of them, so it wouldn't be strange for there to be another.

And, man, that music that came in a little after the halfway point...so out of place. lol.

I think this movie looks good though.

Yep. RE6 is the only physical copy. Everything else is codes. I would've gladly paid for that if the other games came on a physical disc, but nope. I have all those digitally (and RE5 physical), so I have no need for that edition.

Just finished watching the Conan "review", interestingly enough he's actually playing both the demos and not the retail version. It's great to see the tearing from the first half (leon/president section) disappear when he switches to the second demo "Now im about to start a demo no one's seen on the internet yet".

I'm assuming the second demo is what's being released on the 18th.

What's with them using that Ashley sound grab in every trailer for Damnation? =/

At 1:25 of this trailer, it's Hunnigan who says it. She's on his little communication screen so her voice is a bit distorted. Sounds like Ashley though huh? Got me, too.

Yep. And it's funny he says it hasn't been seen, but it was seen at Comic-Con. A lot more of it.

Continuing with my RE3 playthrough and I just got to the "clock tower" (lol Capcom and their lack of subtlety). Anyone who doesn't agree that Jill is the most competent Resident Evil character is crazy; the kind of shit I had to go through to get to this part is just absolutely bonkers. This game is so much harder than RE2 or REmake, between the Nemesis jumping out at you every time you make some progress, the ridiculous number of zombies walking around in some areas (7+ in some cases), and the retarded trial and error areas (the part where you drop through the ground and have to operate the emergency ladder while a massive worm is trying to eat you comes to mind).

The game overall is growing on me compared to when I first played it, but it still is my least favorite of the first three games. The clock tower area seems promising; it's got the same mansion and RPD atmosphere of the first two games, but I am fully expecting the level design to let me down. I feel like this game would have made me rage quit a long time ago if I wasn't abusing emulator save states, and I don't foresee that changing anytime soon.

Why you no post in official replay thread? =P

Yay more patches! lol. I actually have two different BSAA patches from RE5. Of course, I've never used them. Just think it's interesting this is including patches. Would make for some good cosplay stuff if interested in that.

Anyway, the only reason I would want the guide is if it had some interesting stuff in it like the RE5 guide had (background story, stuff about production, mercenary strategies, ets.). I know this game doesn't need a guide. I normally never get them. I have that 50% off coupon from my Unlocked membership at Best Buy for guides so I might get it anyway.

Continuing with impressions and trying to be as vague as possible.

Set pieces are what makes this game special. Oh and one of the levels definitely pays homage to Donkey Kong Country :P

When you say setpieces do you mean only big cinematic explosion stuff and/or giant enemies, or are you also including interesting combinations of level design and normal enemies? RE4 was full of that, like the hedge maze, the mine cart ride, etc.

When's this demo out for everybody??

Sept 18th.

Oooooh I'm definitely preordering that. On Amazon UK it's only £15.59:

Mine cart you say? And i thought it was from Donkey Kong Country :P

It's a combination of both though.

Do I get to collect bananas? And collect four gold squares with letters in them that spell B O W S? If so, that's pretty awesome.
I'm sure you just mean mine carts. And they did that in RE4. I'm just messing around.

Can I throw my co-op partner off a ledge? =3

You can rent it on amazon video and Vudu as well.

Damn. Neither Vudu nor Amazon offer it for just renting. I don't wanna buy the digital version. Just wanted to view it before deciding if I really wanna get the blu-ray. Hmm...

I doubt the rent option will become available when the movie first releases. You'll have to buy it if you want to watch it within a month or two of its release.

Yeah. Ah well, someone on Amazon said it was great (I'm guessing he watched it through one of the digital sources) and it's only $19.95 or something for the bluray combo. And I will have earned another $5 amazon credit through Bing rewards before it releases, so I'll probably just get it. RE6 hype and all that.

Wow Damnation actually wound being pretty goddamn entertaining.

Just about everything I hated about Degeneration was fixed in it.

I've played the RE6 PS3 Dragon's Dogma demo for the first time...

Chris and Jake levels are horrible :_( What the heck has this to do with Resident Evil? :_(, even worse than RE5.
Oh, and those "Manhunt" Zombies designs are horrible, too, I hope this kind of gameplay is just a few part of the full game, if not...

Was the facial expressions and lip-sync improved over Degeneration? That was my main turn off in that movie.

The lip synching is still a little off but the animation, design, action scenes, well most everything is much better.

Leon hams it up quite a bit too thank god
