The annoying thing is, minor tearing aside, RE5 was probably one of the most polished games this generation. The camera was never offensive, the graphics were great, the animations were great (especially the melee ones) and the controls were tight. How they managed to take such a giant step backwards...

Umm, how do you use cover? I'm playing as Piers but when I get to low walls all I can do is hurdle them.
Oh never mind, you have to press L1 then x.
I don't know but It did force me to adjust my tv colors.. and yeah it is badJust played the Leon part. It is worse than what I excepted honestly and this is coming from someone who played RE5 to death.
Also, is the game supposed to be THAT dark? I had to crank up the in-game brightness to actually see what was happening in most areas. I'm playing on PS3 if it matters.
Let me first say that this game makes me very happy to have a plasma TV. The blacks were black and I freaking love it.
Alright I just played the Leon demo and I have no clue what all the bitching is about. The game plays well, feels tight, aiming and camera feel responsive, and the zombies are hard to kill. At the end I thought I would just run around and take out all the zombies before heading for the car, but they swarmed the hell out of me and I just had to make a run for it.
The car QTE was pretty silly but that's probably my only complaint with this part of the demo. I really have no idea where most of the bitching about the controls comes from.
Oh, and lemme complain about the brightness adjustment screen. "Turn the brightness down so the 6 is barely visible." Hey fuckheads, the 6 is a drastically different shade than the background it's on, it will always be visible. That said, I played at 40 and it looked decent.
Seriously, WTF Capcom? RE5 had a shitty brightness adjustor as well.
I'm nowhere near done playing the demo, but I am so thankful we can pause now.
edit: I am also thankful Hunnigan's neck is fixed. :lol
RE6 on the other hand is just a mess on a basic, mechanical level.
The menus are and hud are really garbage to me.
The camera is to close as well.
It seriously isn't, though. I can't think of many third person shooters that give you this much control. Once you get used to it the combat flows much better than it did in RE5. The encounter scenario themselves are worth debating, but the movement mechanics are probably the best part of this game.

The PS3 version of the DD demo has weird shadow issues.what was wrong with her neck?
I dont understand why they did it keep it simple. And they're garbage in 3 different ways. It's fucking unbelievable, really.
How can someone that obviously likes Vanquish like the controls in this thing?I couldn't stand them. I didn't even finish the Jake and Chris demos, it was nothing but a pain.
Chris' and Jake's sections felt like high budget low budget TPS wannabes. Just bad on a fundamental level. Controls, camera, enemies, menus, etc. They're not unplayable, but they certainly aren't anywhere near the level of the games they're trying to imitate.
fyi, here's a link to the 360 demo. (quote to see)
Biggest complaint about the demo? There is indeed an option to get rid of the objective marker...but it removes the rest of the HUD as well. :/

Is it me or did it just feel I dunno...cheap? Something about it doesn't seem polished to me. The presentation, the menus, the graphics, the animation ...it all feels cheap.
I was able to play it just fine. =P

Which is what he is saying. Not unplayable = playable.
"Cheap" is the word that comes to mind for me as well. It doesn't have the feel of an "A team" effort...I've had a feeling since it was first unveiled that this was a rushed production, and my fears have only worsened since playing the demo. It's got the feel of a cash-grab, plain and simple.

Is there splitscreen co-op in this demo?

Could anyone answer this?
My TV is well-calibrated and I still have difficulty seeing some of the zombies. They intentionally hide them in the dark corner of the game so you'll get surprised when you're walking nearby. I also hate how you can't shoot zombies on the ground but if that's the case, then don't re-animate them when certain events unfold. That's just cheap.
If that campaign was polished and refined, it wouldn't be a cash grab.A cash grab would be one 8 hour campaign.
No there is not. In the full game, yes. But in the demo you're restricted to online co-op.
