Resident Evil remake pc performance thread

You asked this in the OT for this game and several people replied to you. There didn't need to be another thread on the PC performance of this game. However, glad it works and hope you enjoy the experience!

how is this game at 60fps? Curious if there is any 'glitches' or anything that looks weird from the transition of a locked 30fps game to unlocked.

Theres got to be a reason why the console ones are locked at 30.

I thought some people were reporting lip sync issues when running at 60FPS.

i7 5820k
Gigabyte X99
16GB DDR4
GTX 970

Downloading this now, will let you know in a few hours after I've played it a while.

Definitely going to max it out.

Digital Foundry:
The PC has no such issues with frame-pacing either. Based on our testing with an Intel i7-3770k processor clocked to 4.3GHz, 16GB of RAM and a GTX 780 Ti graphics card, the job of hitting 60fps is predictably not a difficult one. It flies by as you might expect of a top-end rig, with all settings cranked to their highest point.

But the bigger question is how Capcom's remaster is optimised for lower-end cards. Changing to a sub-ÂŁ100 GPU like the AMD HD 7790 (configured with just 1GB of GDDR5), the game is still fully playable at 1080p while holding a 60fps line. Once all settings are maxed out, we see dips to 50fps for the first minute of loading the game, after which playback smooths out and rarely drops down again. Even more demanding 3D environments, such as the birdcage room or the cellar beneath the cemetery, have no issues in holding at a perfect 60fps on this card. With all this mind, the lack of 60fps support on the consoles is rather odd - the advantages are obvious and there was nothing to stop Capcom introducing a 30fps mode for series purists.

Looks like PC port is fine.

i5 760, GTX 650ti BOOST 1gb, 8gb ram.

Runs flawlessly at 1080p/60fps

Couple of screens i took

Missing borderless windowed mode, being able to go over 1080/1200p from the options menu and better AA, other than that it's fine. Basically runs on a toaster.

Is there any way for better AA? Forcing through NVCP doesn't do it for me

Funny how dolphin can do higher res models than remastered version on PC

I like how it says CAPCOM in greek letters in the tombstones! (they swapped C for X) RIP-CAPCOM-JOKE.jpg

It reminds me this I posted

Hi Gaf,

I don't think this is posted yet. But I found that in REmake the first EMBLEM uses some gibberish marks. Only it's not gibberish but greek letters. While in greek they make no sense, If you swap the letters with the english ones assigned on a greek/usa keyboard layout you get:

"While there is life, there is hope"
(Marcus Tullius Cicero)

Here a screenshot taken from dolphin.

And here's the keyboard layout:

yes I am greek :D

And yes I am aware that they used V instead of W

Downsampling this game does almost nothing - still tons of jaggies on the 3D models. The cutscene rendering seem decent, but the gameplay still looks jaggy and blurry.

Anyone has an idea on how to improve the quality? AMD card here.

So the latest nvidia driver seems to have fecked up anti aliasing in this for me. Theres an official frofile for REmake now, but it just wont work for me. My settings i was using in inspector for SGSSAA dont work anymore, anyone know how to get it working again?

Use MSAA profile, Luke (works fine for me)

There seems to be a lot of questions about the pc version. I have the following specs:

Intel 2600k
Nvidia GTX 670 4 GB
4 gb ram

How kind of performance can I expect out of the game at 1080p and max specs? Also how is the port on pc?

Please post specs and your experience.

Laptop: MSI CX61

Intel Core i5 3210M
Nvidia GeForce 540M 2GB DDR3
6GB RAM
Max Res: 1366x768
Game runs at max settings, constant 60FPS. Drops are next to none.

Desktop:

Intel Core i7 2600K
Nvidia GeForce GTX 570 1.3GB GDDR5
8GB Ram (Corsair Vengance Blue)
Max Res(That I've played on my monitor): 1920x1080
Game runs at a constant 60FPS. No drops at all at 1080p

Forgot to mention. QLOC made this port. So it runs beautifully on just about any PC. If you can run just about any Capcom game on PC. You'll be fine. This game is like baby food for your PC.
