Resident Evil Requiem: Leon Must Die Forever DLC Out Now

Should of been in at launch. Everything here is recycled and a quick speedrun version of the Leon Campaign with a time limit.

It's a shitty extra mode. Should of been Raid Mode. This is a low effort Merc mode with Roguelike element.

Not having Grace playable is ass. Guess she isn't the main character after all. Doesn't seem to have meaningful unlockables as incentives to play the mode either.

My $20 investment in Ground Zero keeps winning.

Danjin44 Danjin44 Pragmata will be fine. It's Action Roguelite coded with it's weapon and hacker pickups and upgrades you buy and set to loadouts with ingame currencies.

Shouldn't be this hard to go with a winning formula...

Level design is too linear to add Mercs. I fucking knew it.

This game sucks lmao and it's gonna end up being the best selling RE.

Honestly I don't agree. The game has many areas where Mercenaries could work if done right. They just didn't put any effort with this minigame

Terrible. Seeing those numbers, enemies with colours and health bars turned me off completely.

I was hoping for mercenaries or something more interesting
I get that you want something different and better but it's literally Resident Evil Village's version of Mercenaries:

Do not complain, just consume

Free means you can't criticize

Just lmfao
Yeah, it's ridiculous that people think just cuz it's "free", we should eat up the slop like the obedient piggies we are I guess.

Requiem was a really lackluster game to me. It was short, with very little variety, and some of the worst replay value in any RE game I've ever played. A game lacking content, adding free content that just reuses assets isn't really something I'm into celebrating.

I'm in the same boat. I got the plat, but it ended up being on the lower end of my RE list. I don't really have much interest in ever replaying. They literally had the blueprints with RE2make and RE4make.

It basically confirmed to me that the team making the remakes are superior to the RE7/8 crew who made this game. Get those guys on new entries and stop wasting them on remakes.

So this is where we're at now, 50% of the people in this thread are whining about the free content they provided which most games don't even bother giving you, being asset flips and not being equivalent to paid content, or the much overrated mercenaries mode(which is also an asset flip), just gonna have to ignore this thread out of embarrassment.

I'd be celebrating their 30th anniversary with a mode that utilizes every playable character in the series and has plenty of homages to previous games via different levels from different games(which funny enough RE Revelations 2 actually did) and a currency system through missions(with objectives) to purchase and upgrade a variety of weapons/gear/abilities over the entire series. Not to mention the perfect place to insert enemy types from different games.

And let's say that's too difficult even if the levels from previous games they already have assets for within the same game engine they could easily have a series of stages and layouts from each of the locales you visit in Requiem.

You could easily have a variety of stages focused on different sections of the Clinic(1st/2nd floor, Attic, Basement, Secret Lab, Church), sections of Raccoon City, Restored and Destroyed RPD, Orphanage, different sections of Ark.

Just seems like a missed opportunity to go for a Roguelike mode where the only reward is funny hats for Leon to wear?

And why just Leon? Grace should be playable too. You could totally be using her toolkit with Throwables, letting us use the makeshift Hemalytic Flamethrower more. So much potential.

Is this the one with the flashback at the police academy where leon learn how not to hit vital spots inside huge deformed monsters?

My feelings on this one have soured a bit. Leon's part of the game feels so half-assed in retrospect, the story seemed to promise big swings and it feels like a nothing burger and I have almost zero desire to replay it. I felt similar after RE7.

This being the extra game mode seems so flat to me too. I suppose I shouldn't knock it until I try it though.

Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!?

WTF is devs fucking obsession with that fucking game design!?
Because repetition pads game length with only minor content-adds needed to incentivize players to play. Low developer stakes to high gameplay return.

Some roguelikes are exceptions due to the huge mass of modifiers and unlocks, but not all.

Lmao. It's awful. Just segmented areas from the campaign with all the dialogue still intact.

Dunno how they've managed to to backwards on almost everything from RE4 remake.

After playing it, this is really poor. If someones looking for actual roguelike action mode, last of us no return is amazing. They have random modifiers, penalties and weird mods for zombies sometimes like invisible clickers etc. they also allow for many more non-playable characters there from story mode and there's also hardcore random daily runs which you can attempt once a day with leaderboards.

Edit: Nvmd, I don't fully understand the question. Are you saying you bought the game tonight for 80 dollars with the DLC in mind?
Meaning that it is not in fact free. Someone who wants to play this mini-game today is buying RE9 for 80 dollars for the bundle of the base game and this included mini-game. You can not go to the "free" section of the PSN or Xbox store and download just this mini game. It is not free, it was figured in to the purchase price of the game when it was budgeted at Capcom. People can complain all they want about it, they paid for it.

It's literally a continuation of RE Village Mercenaries. The perks, the energy bars, the damage numbers all from Village.

Whoever first described it as roguelite ruined this thread. It's almost identical in format to RE Village Mercenaries with a couple changes.

If you don't like Village Mercenaries or Requiem that's fine, but a few of the replies in here read and sound like a 4 year old who still need their baby bottle and many responses from people who haven't tried this mode yet.

I'm personally tired of RE2R and RE4R, I put tons of time into both but completely burned out on that style so Requiem was and still is 10/10 for me.

I don't mind when Capcom makes a few in a row in a certain style, but when it gets stale the formula needs a shakeup. They've been really really really really really really good about keeping sales super high for the entire series and keeping the series fairly fresh so I'm gonna go with their idea of a good time over the whiners.

Has anyone checked if those can be turned off? I don't mind scores at the end, but don't need any of that shit during the moment-to-moment. Would be shocked if there are no toggles for those.

Yeah I don't get the hate. I liked it way more than RE8. Ethan stinks.

A lot of words for a huge amount of cope but you do you.

Mercs in RE8 wasn't particularly good either, I grew used to it and did it for the Plat but it's still on the lower end of bonus modes for RE games.

EDIT: Requiem is a 10/10? 😂😂

You say cope, but you're coping since I'm not coping; I've thoroughly enjoyed both games, and I think I max ranked every Village Mercenaries stage including Additional Orders with every character. 107 hours in Village and I enjoyed it all, including and especially Winters Expansion which I thought was fantastic, but gives the whiners hemorrhoids.

In a lot of ways I've enjoyed Ethan's games a good amount more than some of more beloved mainline games because Capcom's localization and script writing has gotten significantly better starting with RE7. Not because of Ethan but all the main antagonists in 7 and 8 were top tier to me.

The only reason I haven't gotten max achievements yet in Requiem is because I've been busy:

I'm a massive fan of atmospheric and indie horror. I am huge into different flavors of indie horror whether that be the walking simulator PT style like Face of Another, or something like Darkwood or Look Outside or Crow Country or Puppet Combo's Stay Out of the House or Murder House.

I watch a lot of Youtube / Twitch playthroughs of various indie horror games.

I grew up on both Resident Evil and action games but I'm also just a huge horror fan in general and none of that is cope.

I also grew up on id software games and was obsessed with the Doom and Quake series so first person shooters are another genre I love.

So both sides of Requiem are right up my alley.

At this point they will make re survivor with leon and sell like a bitch in pakistan.

Raid mode was brilliant and made with low budget, classic mercenaries is ok too with many characters.

This is just lazy as hell.
