Resident Evil Revelations 2 - Raid mode pictures and info

The History of Raid Mode

Raid Mode began as an action-packed "shoot-and-loot" style additional mode in the previous "Revelations." Players battle their way through an army of enemies on multiple stages in order to collect more powerful weapons. These weapons can be customized to their liking and then used to take on harder stages with even stronger enemies. That finely tuned and satisfying game play loop kept many a player entertained for hundreds of hours even after they had finished the game's main campaign.

Player Customization

In "Revelations 2," Raid Mode starts with choosing a character, and there are plenty of characters to match all tastes. After that, you'll customize your weapons and skills to ready for deployment.

Deployment

Raid Mode has always been about collecting loot such as weapons, custom parts, and currency; in "Revelations 2," you'll also find treasure chests thrown into the mix. Remember, however, your ultimate goal is to always find and break the goal emblem at the end of each stage.

Cooperative Play

Raid Mode allows for cooperative play -- including local two-player split-screen! Grab a friend and get ready to shoot your way through one of the most exciting additional modes in Resident Evil history.

There are more than 12 choices. That scroll bar means at least one more row, so the roster will be 13-15. It's likely costumes though.

Fuck yeah Wesker and Hunk playable.

I guess it would too much to ask for their Mercs combat melee finishers.

Id Chris and Wesker are there we need them to have melee finishers. Only reason I picked them is to punch the the fuck out of everything.

It's being held by Vita version.

Just like the first was held by the 3DS, right? There's really no excuse that the console versions can't be better equipped from the handheld version.

Anyyyyyway, I'm probably in the minority of liking the Mercenaries (even Biohazard 3's version!) to Raid mode. Raid mode seems to be taking Bio3's "go through the stage" but adding stupid Borderlands/RPG elements to the gameplay while the combat system doesn't really hold up for that style of stuff.

The gun customization stuff in the first Revelations was just boring because it was a HUGE GRIND to get good upgrades for the guns. Blech. I don't want to redo that. :/

The isolation of the game really does make you question how many story centric characters will even be in the game begin with to unlock.

I might get this for the 360 considering almost all of the main canon RE games are there minus Resident Evil 2 and 3.

Although given all the remakes and re-releases there's also a good chance Capcom may re-release RE4, 5, 6, and Revelations on the newer consoles with maybe a chance for remakes of 2 and 3 using their Revelations engine.

Can you customize the reticle to be a laser? I was offput with that change in Revelations; on 3DS you had a laser sight, and on consoles you had a fugly fucking reticle.

I know this game will or should be fun and all like RER1,but man o man those screenshots. Goddamn every time I see this game it looks uglier and uglier. Cant believe that this game is this ugly, some posted earlier about this game being no different or uglier than RER1. That is a bold face lie, this game is uglier than sin.I know people gonna say its cross gen but theirs no excuse for this game to look like this on next gen let alone last gen. This shit looks like a HD PS2 game lol. So like in the last thread about RER2,I'll say it again..

Episodes start in February. Complete is... after 6 episodes(?) or so. So the "full game" will be roughly End of March/start of April(?).

There are 4 episodes, with the final one being released on March 11. Then they will also release a retail version.

Wait, does Raid Mode have online? I've been hopeful Revelations 2 will be online, but I thought it was confirmed not to have online multiplayer and only local. But in the Raid Mode section, it shows a screen that really looks like someone playing online, and says you can play with your friends, including locally, which implies there's an option besides locally to play with friends.

There are 4 episodes, with the final one being released on March 11. Then they will also release a retail version.

This is partially trie, but also partially untrue. The main game is 4 episodes long, but there are also two bonus episodes. You get them if you buy the complete pack or can buy them separately as DLC, so the total episode count is 6 episodes, though the main game is told in four episodes. The two additional episodes have not been explained exactly what they are, except that they star Moria and Natalia, respectfully, and delve more into their stories. As they are labelled as extra episodes, it's not certain if they are full-lengthed or more miniature-sized. They release on March 11th, along with the final episode.

Local splitscreen co-op? Fuuuuuuuuuuuuck, DAY ONE!

Raid is SO FUN. I just hope they let each local player have their own profile, so each person can grow individually, collect their own loot, etc.

Also, I'm loving Claire's design. Not keen on Barry's creepy infant sidekick, though, or his impossibly lanky daughter.
