Resident Evil: Veronica (Code Veronica Remake) Announced

CV is one of my favourite RE games and this, as expected, looks incredible.

Also, very happy to see Capcom supporting the Switch 2. I know it will perform better on all other platforms, but I might get the Switch 2 version just so I can play it in portable mode.

I don't want to celebrate before I know what they have changed... I am afraid they've made it more "serious" and less over-the-top than the original.

When it was released on the Dreamcast, it was praised with perfect 10/10 reviews (mostly praised for amazing graphic jump for that time). I never had a chance to play it, so I was surprised to find out that many people now consider it one of the weaker and more dated entries in the franchise. I'm really glad it's getting a remake.

CV has always felt like a game that needed a remake (although I thought RE4 didn't and that turned out to be really good), but it will be interesting to see how they manage Steve and the Ashfords.

It's still 10/10. People just suck.

Thanks for listing the platforms, should be the bare minimum when creating a thread about an upcoming game

Well, judging from the RE4 Remake this is pretty much a sure thing to happen. Not that it's bad though. The original was pretty cringe at times. I'm really curious on how they'll handle Steve and Wesker in this one.

I've always thought that Steve's VA is one of the reasons a lot of people didn't like him. There's no doubt they'll improve that. I'm also curious about Wesker too. I'm wondering if they'll include all the scenes from Code: VX or more or less.

WEE WEE DON'T SHOOT.
SOOREY ABOUT THAT LITTLE MISUNDERSTANDING

Not only is the voice acting bad, it's Canadian bad.

I was thinking it's more his tone. He sounds whiny and younger than the actual character is supposed to be. Can't really relate to "Canadian bad" since I am, in fact, Canadian. :messenger_grinning_sweat:

I hope they are not removing one of the perspectives and you can pick first or third person. Hopefully thats the setup on all the games moving forward.

Theory? I thought this was a fact.
I'm open to all evidence if you have any.

As far as I've seen, Capcom doesn't name these teams and they make it difficult to track, that's why I just call it a theory.

Well that, and the fact that Team C was either oddly missing for multiple years or at best, maybe they were morphed into a DLC team for each game. But again it's difficult to know.

meh remakes remakes
I mean, what else would there be when the industry is stuck on ultra safe regurgitated bullshit. It's mostly just different flavours of the same things these companies have identified to sell at this point.

We really need to go back to more manageable budgets. Better games were made with far less money for fucks sake.

I remember that, I had to wait for the PS2 version to finally be able to play it and it was great.

But I replayed it a few years ago, I think after RE2 remake and thought it was ok. Not a bad game but dated. Not because of the graphics or the cringe dialogues, but because of some game design decisions.

I think it's one of the weakest games of the original run, though still above Zero.

I wonder what Nosferatu will look like, and his weird ass long arm 🤣

looked more funny than scary in the original during the fight
