Resistance Fall of Man - 1up.com review

Can't believe all the bitching for an 8.5.. AN 8.5! With the lack of exclusives in the PS3 launch line-up I think people were looking too hard for a killer-app right out of the box. To be honest, nothing I've seen from Resistance warrants the hype the game has gotten. Its really unfair to Resistance. You have Nintendo coming out with Zelda, MS coming out with Gears, and here is Sony with the bohemeth that is the PS3 and Resistance out of sheer necessity and lack of other options was pushed as the systems firt flag ship title. While a solid and well crafted game Resistance as is, had no chance of living-up to the hype.

The problem is not necessarily with the Review. The problem is that another game named Gears Of War should have been penalized the same way Resistance is being penalized and perhaps more. You can't get much more Generic than Gears which is pretty much put together from ripping off other games. At least the score in this review is believable based upon the criticism.
The 1up 10/10 score (from Hsu) for Gears Of War , based upon the criticism levied at the game in that review, is a complete joke and calls into question the integrity of the reviewer. If Resistance is an 8.5 then Gears of War is an 8.5 or lower

That was my point.
The only "agenda" I'm claiming they have is to get attention and more readers, you tool. And if you think that a media company doesn't want attention and readers, the whole basis for their existence and paychecks, then you are an even bigger fool than your post indicates.

Game sites are not making money by being impartial. IGN makes money because of the access to media they give. 1up cannot compete and so has the personality / new media angle, in turn triggering IGN blogs.

The AI completely depends on who you`re fighting. Menials (the guys that grab onto you) flank and are very very sneaky. Sure, the hybrids tend to charge you, or find simple cover, but they`re not particularly smart, as far as the story goes, as well.

I took part in the Resistance event at Insomniac today. Here's some pics.
I played for about 2.5 hours in total in multiplayer and I loved every second of it.

Oh, so there are weapons you only get on a second playthrough? I definitely have to play this twice, then!
Multiplayer is something I haven`t checked out yet. I`ll hopefully have a chance to try out some multiplayer this weekend. DCharlie is starting a GAF Japan clan, so I`m hoping to get in on that.
I'm sorry but can some GAF moderator explain to me why 1up editors enjoy such immunity here? Luke outrightly insults every person that reasonably suspects that 1up is biased while the former 1up editor and now on Microsoft payroll Che trolls the rival consoles without even a remark against him from the moderators. Actually I've seen people banned for mentioning that he's a corporate mouthpiece which is close to the truth. I'm not implying anything by the way I just need a reason behind this behaviour.
