Posts like these remind me how authistic i am about scanlines and proper 4:3 upscaling on modern age displays. i own a set of 2 PVM's CRT's and even though they are 15"i can see the scanlines from more than a meter away. Its undoubtedly the best way to play retro consoles. i dont do much emulation nowadays but i have an OSSC and can spend some time tweaking my old hardware on it until it almost looks the same on a modern lcd display, which includes x5 integer scaling and doing custom scanlines..., afterall we want to play them retro games like we remember them from our youth right? Well, im wrong it seems, just scalefx the sh*t out of it and butcher everything.
atleast u didnt stretch the 4:3 to 16:9 coz u like full screen gfx and not black bars. ...
Posts like these want me to punch a hole in the wall even though i respect your opinion on scalefx...., even if its wrong
I'm going to assume shading, dithering, half-tone are all the same thing. If that is what you meant, then yes I agree with you. Dot patterns should be preserved or translated properly and scalefx is not doing it.
mild sriracha can you please explain what settings you used and presets for the images you posted? also i agree with you i think games look much better with ScaleFX. im trying to get the same results.
