GUTEN TAG .. yep. the propganda posters in the game was a nice touch though.

hopefully they'll reintroduce mech-hitler for the next game ... although I seriously doubt this will happen. oh man.. what would be a nice couple of levels for the end of the game, fighting your way up to the top of kehlstein, through the eagle's nest and having the final battle on the mountaintop hehe. make it so, raven
 
What was it the HappyPenguin server or some shit, 64player non-stop Depot fun!

Still my all time favor mp game, EASILY.

There used to be some mod for it, where it was instantgib, but when you killed someone they dropped gold or some crap, and you had to score it at these flag places before someone shot you. could never remember what it was called always wanted to play it again.

Shit I remember HappyPenguin. Hell yeah, 64 player was nuts even back then. Battles so intense, every corner would be a huge battle for ground.

God I want to play again now

Also that mod was called Banimod, fucking great fun too. The more gold you had, the heavier and slower you'd move :lol
 
Depot, Assault, Village, Beach, Destruction, Das Boot, Communique......man this game seriously has some of the best MP maps ever. If RTCW2 doesn't have remakes of them, I'll be severely disappointed.
 
Still have the collectors tin and patch. Just had to bust it out for this thread :D

nerve is doing the multi for the new castle wolfenstein aswell, seems likely
 
RTCW single player campaign was excellent.

The graphics, scenery, pacing, gameplay everything about it was awesome. It had a good variety of environments and enemies.
 
Awesome game, although I remember not finishing it. It had something to do with having to fighting 3 giants at the same time, and I remember hating that when I was 18.
 
If all you did was the single player campaign of RTCW, you did not play RTCW. Seriously, just playing RTCW SP would be like going to Peter Luger Steakhouse in New York and eating nothing but crackers and water.

RTCW multiplayer people. Learn it. Love it. Live it.
 
I think I still have my gamesave file somewhere. I stopped a little after I got introduced to the guys that were half a body and walked on their hands. They took WAY too many bullets, so it wasn't that fun.

shit yeah. I am going to be all over the sequel. as many others have said, RTCW was something special. I spent countless nights perfecting the awesome grenade mechanics and gibbing fools with choke point dynamite as an engineer. Depot is probably the coolest mp map in existence.
 
w:et = one of the best online fps i ever played. the fact that it was completely free made it even more amazing.

Yeah mp_depot is superb.

Splash Damage's work on ET:W is the main reason I went after ET:QW so heavily.

You can see what they learned in map design and style come through in it. It's not very polished but the design is still sound.
 
enemy territory is my fav online shooter ever. hell i'm still in a clan although i haven't played in a while. believe it or not my crappy pc is way to slow to play it even at 640x480. :lol i'm upgrading soon to a quad core pc from a p4 2ghz, 256MB of ram. i think it should be enough to run et at full settings. :D
 
Ive got the tincase special edition and everything in it and i still love that game!
Does anyone have some more info about RTCW2?

If anyone wants a free, legit copy of RTCW, with jewel case/SN let me know. I bought the original, and re-bought it when I splurged for the id Super Pack. I'll just send it out on the cheapest way possible. BTW, US people only, Canada, blame your border agents, everyone else, I'm not paying for your postage.

Oh god, I played the MPDemoTest every goddamn day after school for hours.

I would play Lieutenant.
I got into the habit of always having a ticking grenade in my hands.
If I had a feeling that an enemy was nearby, I would toss it and get another one cooking.
I got really good at throwing explosions into people's faces.

I went by the tag GrenadeMan for a very good reason.
 
Ah, I forgot! I loved this game for its voice communication!
I've had the most courteous multiplayer games of my gaming life in RtCW!

"You're welcome!"

I loved it so much!

(most of) the maps were awesome, but when i didn't have the game yet, i'd play the mp demo over, and over again. the beach map was fucking amazing. probably my favorite demo ever.

Can someone look up the patches that we need and some map packs? im lost in all the numbers? when is the Gaf tournament gonna be anyway?
 
Just curious, has a sequel been announced?

EDIT - Will totally go out and buy the game for PC if the GAF game comes together. Infact I'll buy it on my way home today if I can find it... wait.... theres no luck of that in retail stores is there?

An Xbox 360 exclusive Wolfenstein game was announced back at launch. Havent heard much since then. At quakecon they talked about doing the voice recording, so its still in development. Wish we would get some more news about it though.

And if you cannot find a retail box version in stores, the game is available over steam for $20.

And I can't wait to get in on the GAF games, seriously lets get this together!
 
I love RTCW, such a classic game and it had great graphics for its time.

I cant wait to see how the new Castle Wolfenstein game is coming along, its in development right now.
 
Who can run a stable server so we can get this event off the ground?

I installed 1.4 - 1.41 and the Goty mappack so im ready to go :D
 
well looks like we wont be able to do it. He's closing the TF2 sever down after February do to people making donations, and taking them back, causing fraudulent claims or something through amazon.... check the PC TF2 topic in Online to read about some of our fellow gaffers douchery.

Played tons of ET, not much RTCW, didn't even know it had MP at the time.

Is there much of the difference from ET?
