I feel like half the games I see linked from KickStarter are Metroidvania clones...

The art style on this one isn't to my liking and the straight up ripoff of the corpser from Gears of War isn't a good sign either...

Well, best of luck I guess. It would be nice if there was some kind of background about who these people are and what projects they've worked on in the past. My guess is that none of them have shipped a game before and this is kind of a first project for them. Which I understand everybody's gotta go through at some point, but it definitely makes it a risky back, IMHO.

Wow, that is some clearly derivative work. Like, there's paying homage, and then there's making black Samus. I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo tried to sue them. Capcom might not have cared when Inafune was doing Mighty No.9, but Nintendo isn't that laid back.

The character sprite looks like ESWAT or Turrican or something, very 90s-ugly.

Jesus, even the planet is called "Keres" (instead of Ceres...)

Well, Ceres is a dwarf planet in the kuiper belt so the planet can't have that name...

The actual planet in Metroid was called Zebes by the way, Ceres is the research station at the beginning of Super Metroid.

I'm glad the game has been funded but I would love to see more of the stretch goals reached.
They announced that they altered the stretch goals a little by swapping the "Uprezzing the game to 1920x1080" to $25,000.

i don't give anyone money for unfinished products (yes i know how kickstarter works). screenshots mean nothing to me if the game ends up a mess. but if this ends up on steam i might be interested when its out.

I'm sure they just want to get their pledge total as high as possible, and that's understandable, but now that's just shitty marketing. I think it may backfire too. I think the game looks very good personally, but now I'm somewhat considering taking back my pledge...

I've only backed two games on Kickstarter and this is one of them. Love the look and atmosphere, and it's only getting better.

This is the first I'm hearing of this. If I had a decent job, I'd back it. It looks pretty cool. If they don't get more money it looks like it probably won't hit until 2016 though.

I will buy it for the Wii U if it ever releases.
