Thats not the Digital out port, the Digital out port is bigger then that.

You sure? I'm certain my NGC got that kind of connector. Optical maybe? Or possibly PAL only? God, I'm so clueless.

Ouch. Auto-Owned.

No, the one where its pointing to it with WTF is not the Digital out. The Digital out would be the "AV" hole.

This does bring up one of my pet hates about owning lots of consoles.

WHY DO SOME COMPANIES INSIST ON USING PROPRIETARY CABLES?

In my experience there are only two cable types required.

1. The Figure 8
2. Big Three Pin (kettle type).

My amp and CD player use the Three Pin. My DVD player use the figure 8.

Ipod's use the figure 8, Xbox, PS1, PS2 and PSP all use the figure eight.

Gamecube uses proprietary cable.

The damn Xbox 360 use a Three pin with a slight modification, what the hell is that?

I only have so many plug sockets at the back of my media centre.

I would like to swap the standard figure 8 or 3 pin between devices, not to have to find another plug socket. It's not like I have the PS2, X360 and GC all running at the same time.

The 360 even uses a different AV cable. Why can't I just use the HD AV cable I already have for the Xbox.

"well howdy thur this goddang revolution looks a lot like the gamecube and a durr because it's underpowered i'm gonna be a uhm a dick and then say gamecube turbo but really a thur i'm gonna get am owned right up the ass!"

I can accept an owned and make a LOL thanks to it. I am not a closed minded person.

I assume that the Rev will follow the GC in that the power supply is external. In this case having a custom plug makes sense as you dont want people being able to plug 240v straight in using a standard 8 or kettle style conection :)

I'm in agreement that its about time we had standard AV and optical outs tho.

Ok thank you for that. Seems I got everything confused then.

hi is this thread about a new model of the gamecube or the revolution or what

somebody tell me what the flying fuck is going on here

I think it's pretty damn obvious that this is simply the final design of the Revolution, but maybe that's just me.

Gamecube Turbo was confirmed by IGN, this only confirms Revolution is a videogame system with shit to make it work. Functionality status on.

see I don't spend my time studying revolution schematics and thinking of new ways to cook curry with the revolution controller so I have no idea what a bunch of unlabeled black-and-white line drawing schematics from a euro site mean k

if you don't start working on elaborate theories based on subliminal messaging found in console schematics you're not a true fan of Nintendo products

okay um the USB ports mean that the revolution controller doesn't work as planned and if you want to play an FPS you have to use a keyboard and mouse!!

Yeah well, I wasn't doing that exactly either. But when you surf to that site, it becomes blatantly obvious that this thing almost looks exactly like the Revolution. The only difference being the smaller formfactor and the visible vents and connectors. Even the cradle is on the site.

i read this thread and it's title about 20 times before clicking that this is some sort of joke.

I wholeheartedly support this thread title edit.

Also, R0nn, the point of the thread wasn't to post the pics themselves, but apparently to misread information from the pics and through doing so forming awesome innuendo that the Revolution is underpowered lolz lolz.

okay so what do we know?

1) revolution to use power
2) power to be delivered to revolution via "cords" (not high-energy microwaves)
3) cords to connect to back of console (if you think about it, this makes a lot more sense than the front)

but then there's the output

1) video signal (?)
2) it will probably have sound as well
3) this will become clearer once Nintendo starts publicly discussing their hologram tech

finally, these diagrams also make it clear that the revolution was designed by someone (Miyamoto?) and didn't just arrive in our world fully formed from a wormhole (as some have speculated)

any other insights?

we can assume that the holographic technology will not require HD resolution, and although it isn't pictured in these diagrams it will also be utilized in a secret dungeon in Zelda:TP (think of delays + how Iwata said game is already comparable to most next-gen games visually)

SD card slots and possible the slot for the DVD dongle (which is required to play real DVDs on Revolution.
Do i read this DVD dongle wrong?

Iwata said the Rev would play DVD's via an internal attachment?
Wouldn't a dongle be an external attachment?

Why couldn't this dongle go inside the system? Maybe the word "dongle" isn't the right word then, as I do know that it's supposed to be internal. Iwata said you couldn't see it.

Ok, these Revolution pics aren´t really surprising. They look like we expected it, specially after this japanese brochure, where we could also see the output holes. But it´s interesting anyhow. I thought the USB ports should be on the front side of the case but apparently they aren´t. Maybe the SD slots but we´ll see. It´s done when it´s done.

@DefectiveReject: I´m sure that this is the big missing secret about the Revolution;-)
