Supposedly Rex found out via a tweet from Trump.

Thoughts?

I personally thought Rex was doing a good job. I have not heard any real reasoning for the firing as of yet.

The word is that he was fired for agreeing with the UK on the poisoning of an ex-spy after the White House failed to recognize the allegation.

They say that Trump is going to get rid of everyone. But Rex's firing was rumored before the new year. I'm surprised they waited.

not sure how this will really impact anything other than Putin laughing at the US while trump sucks him off and bends over as Tillerson was the only one that i heard agreed with the UK that putin putting poison pudding in the UK

All I know is that Pompeo was making Korea statements for a few days now. This had to of been in the works for at least a little bit.

It's crazy that cabinet level officials of the White House need to follow a Twitter feed to stay up to date on their continued employment, or that of their colleagues.

Let me know when Twitter becomes a reliable news source. Also it's all alleged and was not even considered illegal due to some Bush era regulations but sure keep pushing some narrative that was pushed immediately after she got the position. I can wait for either a reliable source or unroll she shows bad judgment in her current job. PS Obama knew about the allegations and did nothing about it too so yeah. It's nothing of concern to me. But you did a nice job throwing her immediately under the bus. Props.

Trump could hire Jesus to be his SOS and the press would bring up a myriad of things. As a matter of fact, I'm laughing even thinking about watching videos of 20 year old college students and the signs they would hold up.

Oh well. I also thought Rex was doing a fine job but I'm not behind the scenes and have no idea why this change was made.

He/she might be trying to convey that a woman was in consideration and chosen because of her supposed qualifications. In that sense it's positive for sure, more so as a signal that there is progress in regards to female leaders.

That's a fair point and there is certainly merit to discuss whether someone appointed is deserving of the office for moral reasons. I imagine Trump didn't have any objections to her moral character, as he himself has supported a harsh treatment of terrorist suspects and it might've been a bonus for him.

Trump denied he wanted to fire Tillerson after the NYT reported that he was considering it months ago. He lied before and from what Tillersons office is saying at no point did Donald Trump ever discuss this with him during the last week. He found out reading Trumps twitter account today. Hes spineless.

Then again, according to NYT, he got some sort of warning about it last week.

"But he had gotten an oblique warning of what was coming the previous Friday from the White House chief of staff, John F. Kelly, who called to tell him to cut short a trip to Africa and advised him “you may get a tweet.”

I can't wait for the left to suddenly fall in love with Tillerson, like they have the Bushes, McCain, and the like.

Especially considering just last week he was being accused of being a Ruskie spy or whatever tabloid headline it was. Now he will be a darling, magically free of all the Pepe Silvia-esque connections concocted before.

A very sound reason why he has chosen Mike Pompeo in regard on his "hawkish" stance on Iran, Russia, North Korea and being pro Israeli Government.
