It wasn't even that, it was how he acted throughout the event.

At first I thought he was just being out of character and having fun with it, but as Ric got crazier, JR kinda went with it and it seemed like he was sauced as well.

I think JR just realized there was no way they were getting Flair under control so just went with it as you said.

I mean yeah I guess 2k could get all upset over it but the panel was entertaining and that's what people want.

The Bells Palsy really gets to JR at times too and gets him down

What did WWE expect to have happen when they gave a live mic to a broken down, drug addicted conman who is teetering on the verge of dementia?

I thought it was brilliant, excellent chemisty and Ric's HOF story brought a tear to my eye.
The PG era kids on the end were left looking like Chimps at a Mensa meeting.

What I found intriguing was how much wrestlers retain

Would think traveling the world, day in and day out for decades that a lot of things would blur together, but most would have the right Mania, right location, everything around the matches

I think certain stories stick out in their minds, and certainly when they have to recall them for something like a doc or a big shoot, but you're right that the day in and day out for decades does kinda blur things. I've asked Vader about the main event of the first wrestling show I saw live back in '94 which was a match against Flair. It was a WCW PPV and he didn't really remember the event. I think he remembered the feud against Flair at least.

Watched the last 15 minutes or so last night. Jeez..

Ha. Was expecting a post along these lines when I saw your username. It's true though, sadly.

Austin's reactions after realizing what kind of shit he was getting himself into with having Ric on his podcast were my favorite things. Daniel Bryan laughing hysterically was a close second.

He did like an 8 hour shoot with RF Video, but I don't think he was nearly as drunk. I'm thinking he did a Kayfabe Memories one at some point.

But we should applaud this man for busting his ass for 100 years in the ring, right? What a scumbag. Haven't even heard of that plane incident until now.

You think that's bad? There are wrestling fans out there who think we should remember Chris Benoit fondly just because he was a great wrestler.

Flair has had a real tough year, sounds like everything is finally catching up to him. He wants to do anything to relive his glory days, hence why you heard the "I'm ready to go right now!" comments.

I really hope he finds peace.

I think it's less ready to "relive glory days" and more "want to make a huge pay day so I can pay off some of my massive debts so I can owe $500K to someone new".

He still thinks it IS the glory days. He doesn't realize that he's in his 60s and it isn't 1986 anymore.

I like how when Flair was talking about no one breaking out of the figure 4 and how he tried it like 20 times on Austin, Austin didn't even budge a smile or anything lol

Flair on Austin's podcast is going to be a mess. An amazing mess. I have a feeling Austin is going to get really annoyed really quick and just start talking over/cutting Flair off as much as he can.
