What do they export? Do you have to pay rent to build structures in the sea? How do they make money from the outside world? DO they?

These are all real questions.

well they've gone to war against Japan so they got money. they also opened their gates to tourism. and they are highly advanced scientifically speaking i'm sure they canmake money from that. and all that fishing rights and such.

Mr. Fantastic should also be pretty rich, right? I mean I feel like he doesn't really flaunt it too much because he's always pouring like 90 percent of it back into his experiments, but he supposedly owns a bunch of patents that make it so he never has to worry about money, right?

Yes, Reed Richards has only comercialized some of his minor discoveries and that's enough to fund all F4 shenanigans.

"The supervillain get kicked out your country
And said the Pledge of Allegiance six times monthly
He ain't hardly go to school
Been known to rock a party and do karate on a ghoul

Lex Luthor is the most impressive one on the list. His company and wealth is self made and he's still among the top five. Scary to think where he'd be if he had Black Panther's resources.

If it weren't for Superman distracting him Luthor would have cured cancer by now. Fucking Superman.

That actually makes me wonder how much trouble those comic universes have with world hunger, illnesses etc. I'd imagine with so many geniuses around they would have solved that a long time ago

Well when the Phoenix Five set out to cure World Hunger and famine, The Avengers got jealous of the attention and put an end to it.

Or how tech from alien civilizations who've colonized multiple solar systems can't match tech from humans still stuck on one planet.

People claim that "real estate fiend" is a terrible characterization of Lex Luthor but it seems wealth is largely defined by real estate.

Anyways Aquaman is the richest.

I guess being the company which is responsible for every Spider-man villain and tech advancement doesn't mean much in the larger scheme of things! Welp.

Spider-man villain
this is the problem. A man with 8 metal arms, a lizard man, a man in a rhino suit, a walking oil slick with teeth? These are not billion dollar industry characters. I mean, even a living laser or some kind of iron monger would be an improvement.

Look at Superman's main Villain. Lex Luthor is basically a Goldwater era Tony Stark.

Aside that Atlantis must have some kind of internal economy to support it's citizens and that currency will have an exchange rate due to it being a recognized country/state. Aquaman being king likely means he has an abundance of that currency
Don't know about Aquaman, but Namor has a bunch of gold from salvaged shipwrecks.

That Magneto one is my fave.

"Has a huge amount of stolen Nazi gold"

"Can control metal so he can always get money"

Comics are so dumb.
True, but that list doesn't help. They spelled Wakanda as 'Wakanada'. Someone tell them it isn't pronounced like Canada - no extra 'a'.

However, I thought Black Panther is a good guy. So why would America need to "free" Wakanda?

No mention of Danny Rand aka Iron Fist. I don't know if he still has the money but he was worth over 10 billion at one point.

Hey Bruce, maybe money you invest on fancy gadgets and construction in dark cave systems would go better towards some social programs for your shithole of a city.

Just saying.

I've always wondered who the hell built the bat cave. There's no way in hell Bruce and Alfred lugged all that steel and electrical wiring in there and set it all up. And how did they get the Giant Penny in without anyone noticing?

He was depressed as all hell in Earth X.

Well his wife and brother-in-law were dead, and his son had to take over for Galactus. Would probably get anyone down.

As for the topic, I don't think money really matters in comic books, when super geniuses basically have unlimited resources. Tony built a partial Dyson sphere, which would cost actual earth tens (if not hundreds) of trillions to attempt. Reed, Doom, Pym, and others build magic level tech in an afternoon that can do anything. Why do they need cash?

Hell, why isn't someone like Firestorm the richest superhero? Can't he basically transmute any element?

I don't believe Wayne is worth more than Luthor, he owns Lexcorp which is like Microsoft + Apple + HP in the DCU, plus he owns tons and tons of other companies.

In Morrison's JLA some cosmic superbeings come to Earth and "solve" world hunger by making the Sahara into a giant fertile farmland. This totally fucked up the climate though.

One recurring theme in Superman stories is that you can't just hand the human race solutions on a silver platter, society and technology has to progress steadily and naturally.
