Rick and Morty is goddamn hilarious

Show is fantastic ... what's even better is it seems people are liking and appreciating it ... I'd hate to see it limited to just one or two seasons ...
 
Just watched it for the first time (saw the hacked dvr / alternate dimension ep) and was pleasantly surprised.

Possibly a stupid question - Is the gimmick of this show that the voice actors improvise lines and then the animators draw what they describe?

EDIT: Oh and probably the hardest I've laughed in awhile was when the kids were coldly and clinically eating cereal out of the leprechauns stomach.

It makes switching from Archer to Rick and Morty at 1030 pretty funny.

Really, that was just something done in this episode.

I'd be okay with it. It's worse for a show to run long than it is to run short. I like how Morty is getting more damaged as the series progresses.

I watched the pilot when it first came out and thought it was decent but not great, had a few things I didn't enjoy at all but last week I caught up on the show and...my god it's amazing, this might just be the best comedy on tv.

This week's episode especially was just fantastic
 
I think episode was one of my favorites. The continuity between episodes makes this show even more special. This was the first episode where I could hear the VA trying to hold back laughter haha.
 
So about that crazy Rick Potion #9 ending... what if Rick entered the dimension where Rick and Morty solve the crisis before their "accident", and messed with the device so it would explode and kill them? Then adjust the truth when he explains his plan to Morty.

Morty was with Rick the whole time, and then they entered the portal into the new dimension together.

Best episodes so far are Rixty Minutes and Meseek and Destroy.

Yeah I'm getting lots of "much darker Futurama" vibes.

I'M MR MESEEKS, I was laughing man, it's fantastic.
 
EXISTENCE IS PAIN FOR THE MESEEKS.

Man I kinda wish I hadn't found out about this until a few years down the line when there'd be multiple series to binge watch!

I think Rick Potion #9, Lawnmower Dogs, and M. Night Shaym-Aliens are up there with Rixty Minutes and Meseeks and Destroy. Actually I can't decide which of them I like best.
 
I'm surprised to see all the love for Rixty Minutes. I laughed a few times, especially towards the end, but it's the weakest yet.

It felt lazy, with writing straight out of Family Guy. Nothing but random bullshit that really wasn't even that creative. I liked the subplot with the parents, but the rest was so forced.

I don't know, I thought it was pretty creative, I just like the idea that the writers actually had guts to make a whole episode about Rick and Morty just watching TV and doing nothing else.

I never seen a TV show to do that so it felt really fresh and interesting.
 
Show has been getting much better with each episode...Rixty Minutes is easily my favorite...loved that the audio was improved

Yeah I agree. The episode was alright, but by far the weakest so far.

I thought the episode was amazing, if only because the female Gazorpazorpians were stereotypical feministas and Rick gave no shits.

I can sort of understand the Family Guy complaints with Rixty Minutes. Maybe it's just me or it's just due to a fresh VA handling it, but I feel like Rick and Morty in general has been hitting a great variety of voices from the pseudo-limited VAs they have. Nowadays if I try and watch Family Guy, Robot Chicken or even the rebooted MAD series on CN, I feel like it's either just a McFarlanefest or that their small ensemble of VAs don't have enough voices to keep the characters diverse, guest stars notwithstanding.

I know I'm late to the party but I just finished watching all of the episodes over the past day or so and I am in love with this show.
