Rick and Morty is goddamn hilarious

in fact, rick could have been dead for decades in the dimension we are introduced to in the pilot, with c-137 rick showing up out of the blue because of shit going down wherever he came from.

I think the only thing that would need to be accounted for in that scenario is that Rick's absence exists in more than one timeline.

I mean, I guess we've only seen two timelines where he was definitely was gone for decades, so we can't be definitive, but the absence of Rick seems pretty critical for Morty to even exist.

Neither Evil Rick nor Evil Morty were robots, I believe. They were just both cybernetically enhanced, Evil Rick with the mind control device, Evil Morty with the transmitter.

What a freakin' brilliant episode that was. I didn't get to see it on Monday so I just saw it now on the adult swim website. I hope we get to see Evil Morty in the future...tired of all Ricks treating Mortys like shit.

Dat dome encompassing all those tortured Mortys...what a grim sight that was.

Why would dumb Rick's Morty be a robot?

In fact, a lot of people seem to be gliding over the fact that evil Morty is a robot.

My bet is still on our Rick having built him.

I thought evil Morty was just rigged with electronics like evil rick. When they open rick up he has a human brain covered in wires. I guess there's no way of knowing either way til its revisited but I suppose robot Morty kidnapping a rick and turning him into a cyborg is a possibility.

I think it's hilarious how much the world discussion has advanced from the Rick Potion episode, where everyone was "Well they can only do that one or two more times I guess".

Also remember, this is a different Earth than they started on because of that episode.

I love the look at the end.

The feels!

I'm inclined to agree with the theory about Evil Morty being a robot, except for the fact that his ulterior motive seems to be the hate for Ricks everywhere. The implication that with the Morty matrix and ultimately getting caught, he saved thousands of Morty's from their Rick 'n Morty relation seems to be the goal he was aiming for. Atleast, that's what one fan theory said I particularly like. The hate for Rick seems implied in the show though.

Also, does everybody forget the fact that Doofus Rick didn't have any children and no Morty of his own? Or rather, Erik Stoltz Mask Morty?

Strange theory I thought of, maybe Evil Morty is actually Evil Rick? We know they have brain downloading tech, perhaps he swapped their brains and was still controlling his old body from his new one via the implants. And now he can carry on, no one will be looking for him in a universe with no Rick.

No Cocky/Evil Morty is not Evil Rick but he has been downloading the minds of all the Ricks he has killed thus becoming smarter.

I dont think he has been downloading all of them, we saw him just dump the body of that one while taking his Morty in the opener.

He's definitely not stealing their minds. All the Ricks were found dead in their universe.

I did have a theory about Evil Rick being in the Morty body. Their mannerisms were very similar with the little you see him. And looking at Doofus Rick, he acts and talks very similar to Morty. It's a stretch, but the show is in full blown crazy town. And why would a real Morty torture other versions of himself? It doesn't add up.

I like the theory that he was creating an army of Mortys that hate Ricks. There's gotta be some residual resentment from being imprisoned by a Rick, I think they'll come back into play later on.

I wonder what Rick tossed in that tray during the post-credits scene. Ice maybe? Seemed kind of weird.

About Evil Morty: What if Evil Morty is the Morty from the opening credits that appears to be eaten by those frog things?

I just started watching some of the episodes of this on Adult Swim's website and my god this show is fucking hilarious.

"I was Zuckerberging people before Zuckerberg's balls dropped!"

It's actually a reference to the 1985 film Mask.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mask_(film)

Based on a true story.

That movie caused such a bad childhood memory.

Was all excited when my mom came home with a movie she rented called Mask. I thought it was going to be Mask the cartoon series. I remember being so confused and for first 10 minutes hoping it was going to be a live action version of the cartoon.

Now I hear this movie mentioned and just get flashbacks.. Damn Cher.. Damn it not being about trucks that shoot missiles.. And damn that blind girls parents for freaking out.

Well that was awesomely fucked up.

Reading the fan theories I'm in the camp that says that Evil Morty is Main Rick's original Morty, and there's going to be some interesting developments there

Goddamn I'm glad they got a second season

Im in the camp that says the eye patch was just some sort of neural implant, and Evil Morty is not a robot.

Yeah, I think so too. Evil Morty being human has a hell of a lot more of an emotional impact IMO compared to just being some random robot. The fact that he is the one who escaped a sea of helpless tools that the average Morty is means that he is a very special Morty. You could even look at it like all Ricks are evil, ammoral bastards and he is the only one who gained enough intelligence to begin fighting to take down the council of Ricks(which is basically an entire civilization dedicated to propagating a cruel system of what is practically enslavement of all states/versions of an individual.. I mean... ticket for a free replacement Morty? They're like a commodity).

Yep, I believe Evil Morty is indeed a human and must have been our Ricks previous Morty. A cocky Morty is a bad thing for everyone, Rick said this and he knows why.

This show is beyond amazing, I can't wait for the season finale.

Rick and Morty is goddamn hilarious.

I think everyone's overanalyzing evil Morty. He's just from a reality where Morty is an evil genius, and was controlling Evil Rick to act as a shield/decoy while he went about destroying the Ricks that have developed a system that essentially enslaves him and every other him in every other alternate reality. The Mortydome "solidified" Evil Rick as the perpetrator and target for the Council of Ricks and provided Evil Morty with additional cover and protection. He's just playing two steps ahead of the game.

What was the deal with Rick essentially getting headshotted in the scene before the intro? I didn't understand it, especially how it follows up.

Evil Rick and Evil Morty are going around the multiverse killing Ricks and stealing Mortys.

Yeah. The opening scene looked like the Rick and Morty universe* we know, but it was apparently an adjacent and near-identical one instead. That's why the next scene had the 1 year anniversary breakfast -- that actually was the universe we know.

* yes, yes, they moved over one universe when Rick Cronenberg'ed the world.

So I just realized the council of Ricks accuses Rick of killing 27 other Ricks, yet there are WAYYY more than 27 Morty's being held captive. How many Ricks do you think were actually killed?

I guess it's posssible they were taken from universes where the Rick had already died. Ricks live a dangerous life, I'm sure most Ricks don't make it.

but yeah, Evil Morty has definitely been specifically screwed by a Rick in the past

"The one thing we both know is that Ricks do not care about Mortys"

Okay maybe I'm reading too much into things, but re-watching the latest episode and I'm wondering if its abnormal for Rick to have been away for however many years. All of the Council of Rick stuff with all of the Mortys seems like something that would take more then a year to develop, and if our Rick really did lose/alienate his Morty maybe he jumped into a dimension where Rick had been away from the family for 20 years specifically to find a new Rick-less one?

I don't think there is such a thing as reading too much into things with this show. I think that's why Roiland came out right away to dispel any theories about the 'God Hates Fags' sign changing to 'God Hates You' in the last frame.

Rewatched "Something Ricked This Way Comes" and the editing they did of the extra scene is great. The punches and kicks landing perfectly on the beat of X Gonna Give It to Ya. Such a great episode.

Also, Rick is definitely my favorite character on the show, his dialogue is outstanding.

WAUW. This latest episode kicked me to a curb.

what a wonderful time we live in. Community, Hannibal, Game of Thrones, Rick and Morty.

It's a lucky time to be alive. Even with true detective and adventure time ending and walking dead being meh mehh, life is still good.
