I mean. Yeah. First post nails it as per usual. It's scary. Even if Trump turns out to be not so bad (I mean, gotta still hold out for wishful thinking right?), this election has fully convinced me that the republicans could easily get behind someone who would actually break our government and turn us into a totalitarian regime. I'd say more than half of republicans would be okay with that.
I'd say there's absolutely a point to exposing Trump's unfit nominees. We've got another election in 2 years, the more material against Republicans the better.

I'm pretty sure most of Trump's appointees weren't born with them to begin with.
It pays $205,000. Perry already makes more than that speaking and glad handling other politicians. The position gives him the ability to enrich himself much more, as he has control over some energy policy (how much depends on how much Trump/Pence are willing to delegate), and his traditional donor base has always been the energy sector. He'll make a mint on kickbacks and favors from Texas oil people.
