Okay, I've been hearing a lot of "Nintendo can't compete directly with Sony and MS, that's why they're going with the gimmicks, etc." talk, and that's due to the lackluster performance of the GC. However, what if the GC:

-Wasn't a stupid shape/color, and was actually cool looking?
-Had a GOOD Mario platformer at launch?
-Had Zelda: TP instead of WW
-had the same overall AAA first party output as the 64?

Would your outlook on Nintendo be any different then?

Maybe.

But what if:

- MS had GTA exclusive
- Never made Xbox huge
- Came out at the same time as PS2
- Made microwave popcorn whenever you popped a game in
- Had Super Mario as its mascot

Would your outlook on Microsoft be different then?

It's not for sale?

Touche.

But seriously, it should be obvious why I mentioned TP. Cel shading scared and pissed a lot of Nintendo fans.

Statistically, OoT is the exception not the rule. Wind Waker has sold in line with every other Zelda game ever.

So ner. It rocks. Don't be a hater oblivion. I love chibi Link ;_;

Point taken though. Nintendo property done right is the shit... and everyone knows it even if they don't want to admit it.

Yeah, the perception that "Nintendo can't compete" is such a cop-out. They CAN compete, very easily. They just DON'T, most of the time.
