I'm probably as under a rock as you can get and even I've heard of Rihanna. I can only recognize a handful of bands on those "top albums of 2008" lists featuring 99% indie bands but I guess I go to enough bars where I'm going to hear this type of stuff on occasion. And I probably listen to 85% metal. Chris Brown, on the other hand, I didn't have a clue who he was. The first time his name was mentioned in relation to the incident, I thought it was TI's real name since I knew Rihanna did some songs with him.
