The first one was a really good cinematic action adventure game, but I guess that's not what a lot of people want from the franchise. It did really good work with the main character, though. In fact, it did everything it tried to do pretty well, so I'm really looking forward to the second.
The complaints about her being a killing machine or whatever are just dumb. Unless people want games to be an hour and a half long, you have to just accept that as a part of games that involve gunplay and action.
The gun play is not necessary at all. The shooting was done well mechanically, but just doesn't fit thematically. Keep the bow and ditch the guns. If the game needs bad guys to kill make them supernatural mummies or undead samurai like the last game. Killing humans or even the bunnies doesn't feel right. It didn't feel right in Uncharted and it doesn't feel right here either. More puzzles and exploration. If you have humans, then adapt the mechanics from the Batman games.
