Everyone likes robots, this is an undeniable fact. Every now and then, especially when the creators have run out of ideas, you get a ROBOT version of a character. He's just like the character... but a robot. Maybe he's a giant. Maybe he has super robot powers. Maybe he's just a robot. Nevertheless, this trope has appeared in countless games so let's talk about it.
The most obvious one is METAL SONIC.
He's got a pretty cool design. Not too over the top, and the evil eyes tell you everything you need to know. Apparently he is totally different from the robot Sonic that appeared as a boss in Sonic 2. That was MECHA Sonic. Please don't get them confused or Sonic fans will come after you. He also appears as a multiplayer character in some games. I mean, who wants to play as Sonic when Metal Sonic is right there?
One of my favorites is Robo-Ky from Guilty Gear.
He's the robotic version of Ky, the hero of the series. He's not just a lifeless robot, he is very bizarre and almost psychotic in how he fights. He's pretty fun for a clone character that you always see in fighters. He also can make his own chair.
