Rock Band 3 ships October 26, 2010 + Pre Order Details

Wow. I went out today to get a wireless strat since my GHIII and RB1 guitars are shitting out on me and no one in town has RB guitars anymore. Apparently Toys R Us clearanced them a month ago and not even Gamestop's keep them in stock anymore. WTF.

Wait, what d'you mean? On Rock Band, you can purchase any DLC song individually.
Not always. Some stuff is only available as a pack. And sometimes there are bonuses for buying the packs, like Abbey Road Medley.

Regular RB DLC has never had any forced bundling. Abbey Road has been the only time where that's happened in a Rock Band-related product.

CCR pack? I wasn't able to find that as a non bundle the first day. Perhaps they fixed it.

I am not surprised, but they just didn't show up as singles for me when I bought the pack.
They did for me and I only purchased one track. (I was kinda broke)

I like the Dave Grohl and Shameless Self Promotion Achievements. The lack of a Who achievement worries me though.

NOW WHERE IS THE SETLIST! ARGH.

How can you like the Shameless Self Promotion achievement?

I like the idea of achievements that require DLC, but not ones that require terrible DLC. Like most the Harmonix stuff (with the exception of Freezepop and Bang Camero).

And Nine Inch Nails, ughhhh

Rock Band 3 will be the first music game I buy.

And it's all because of this:

Will be available for it.

To be fair you just named two decent bands that have like 5 or 6 available DLC songs between them.

It's not that there's not enough good songs to get the achievement, it's just kinda ridiculous that you have to pay for music you may not actually like to get an achievement. I'd rather it just be "get 5 stars on 5 DLC tracks" or something.

Well, there's certainly enough Harmonix bands in the export of either game to find a few to do that achievement. Heck, even the Mighty Mighty Bosstones will count.

I guess we'll have to find out, but up to this point, the only export that isn't a download was the RB1 export. No one knows how the RB2 export is going to be handled.

Does it matter if the songs are counted as DLC or not? The achievement is for simply completing the songs. So whether it is flagged as RB1, RB2, or DLC it will still count.

And also, I like the achievement because it is just funny. Same with the "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet" achievement, calling back to the Bachman Turner award from 2.

So is there a complete bundle? Like 1 Guitar , 1 Keytar, Mic, Pro drum set etc?

I'm gonna get that Fender Squier Guitar for sure, but what about the other peripherals?

I sold my old rockband stuff so I don't have drums or mics anymore :(

As of right now, the only instrument that's being bundled with the game is the keyboard.
Yeah, and it is nearly impossible to find the RB2 guitars in stand alone in stores lately. Thankfully the bundles are still available. Best bet to people that havent gotten anything yet is to get the full band version of 2 (so you can export) and the keyboard bundle for 3. Then just get two more cheap mics (used ones are cheap as hell) and another guitar from somewhere.

Download and play three songs from a band that has Harmonix team members in it.

I'm sure RB3 will distinguish between DLC songs and exports (except track packs of course as that is DLC). With all the new filters added, how stupid would be to have no game filter? You know there'll be someone who wants "to play that song from RB1".

I'll get my GF to do that on drums :D
Man up.

Game already has a filter. Play songs by location, with RB1 already filtered. The only thing that was not properly filtered was Lego Rock Band. That showed as DLC.

And Pixies.

LOL at these, too:
Alex's Luggage Combination
Beat a Rock Band 3 score of 12,345,678.

Live Free or Die
Beat all of the free downloadable songs for Rock Band.

And the next one is a continuation of something that
Dead Rising started,

Zombie Genocider
TYPE: 1 Play REQ: Defeat at least 53,594 zombies.

and Left 4 Dead carried forward.

Zombie Genocidest
Kill 53,595 Infected.

HOPO-cidal Maniac
Kill 53,596 Hammer-ons and Pull-offs.

This should be beating all of the Aerosmith songs since it's fact that Steven Tyler owns a house in New Hampshire; the state whose motto is in fact, "live free or die."

Of course Activision's little Guitar Hero stunt more or less fucked us Rock Band owners on getting any of Aeros' good songs.

Spot the logic disconnect.

"How can anybody like this thing?

I would like it, but I don't like those things!"

Uhh.. other people do like those things?

They should probably change that to 53,597 because Dead Rising 2 is already going to have this one.
Z-Genocider 2: Genocide Harder
Kill 53,596 zombies

Although Dead Rising 2 also has this:
Zombie Genocide Master
Kill 72,000 zombies

It's also be possible that RB3 includes a bunch of bonus tracks as free DLC, which would cover most of the DLC achievements. If I remember correctly, it's MS's policy for the first 1000 achievement points to be on the disc (although some may be from free DLC). They may have made an exception for HMX though, who knows.

All those songs have piano/keyboards in them... retroactive compatibility?

I remember them saying somewhere (though I can't seem to remember where) that they wanted to at least redo the songs that came on the main line games (so rb1, rb2 and possibly rb:l), although they had no schedule in mind. They said they would add in the new features like keyboards and three part harmonies.

achievement list looks pretty fun for the most part.

but like every other rock band game there will be a third of them that ill probably never bother to get.

still, looks like fun. cant wait.
