Holy shit Pavement were awesome.

I'm not surprised. Any surprise songs?! Did they play the cool original version of The Hexx again?

Also, I found a link to an MP3 download of their gig in Sydney last week if you're interested.

That RBN article is decieving about the Stage kit. The Fog machine doesn't work, however the light part of the kit works great. The Slips' - Even Rats has some really awesome lighting cues.

There wasn't anything surprising really, but no Fillimore Jive :(. I don't have the album with The Hexx on it so I couldn't tell you if they played it. Listening on youtube it doesn't ring any bells, but I could be wrong. I was right at the front, literally no one in front of me, was crazy. The support band were good too. And yeah hit me up with that gig download if you can.

That's mostly because the stage kit lights are based on the in-game lighting cues (so good in-game lighting makes for good stage kit lighting), but the fog is its own text event that Magma rejects outright.

Muse is a single thing. It may contain a couple of people, but it is a singular thing.

Bullshit. Go back to America, moran.

Wrong. Except for The Resistance. That album is shit.

They have about...4 good songs. It's ridiculous they've got away with most of their songs sounding terrible for so long. Bellamy is a terrible singer, it's like some Mariah Carey shit every song. Malkmus > Bellamy.

Bellamy's singing is what eventually did them in for me. I still like listening to them every once in a while but his gasping for air sound that they don't cut out in studio gets really old really fast...and once you hear it, you can't unhear it.

Yeah I hate that shit too, haven't noticed it on muse alums though. I'm not sure why producers don't cut it. Its ok if its one or twice and they emphasize a word with it or something, but when its inbetween every phrase it gets obnoxious.

The RB stage kit is on clearance for like $25 at some stores now. Would it be worth it for the lights alone? (assuming they don't need shit like the fog does)

I was excited for it and almost bought it full price but waited.. I kinda want some sweet ass lighting while I play.. especially if RBN songs support it..

Mail Call...

Bebedora and I saw Ladysmith a couple years ago perform in concert. I was a magical night. In between songs they would tell stories. They were very funny. We had the opportunity to meet them and get signed CDs but it was so crowded we had to leave.

Nice to know someone else is aware of them :)

I don't know what's more sad, the fact that there's only like four good songs on there or the fact that there's not a single song off their best album.

Just used the stage kit over the weekend, didn't use the fog machine most of the night and it went just as well as it being on. Stick Stickly's light show makes that song 10x better.

Just had an evening of Rock Band 2, TBRB and Singstar. Having three people singing harmonies on The Beatles is the best thing ever. Also, noone knows how to sing any songs on RB2.

about 5 hours into FF13.. gonna spend the rest of the night on it methinks. i like it so far. Is there any way to only do ONE attack without waiting for the entire bar to fill?

Can just press Y or whatever the equivalent is on the PS3 after just pushing one command in to have it go.

Fade to Black is awesome. Wait...are you saying Kill Em All is their best album?

If so, you are my new best friend.

Incredible charts, terrible songs. That was definitely one of my favorite customs to play.

KeA is by far their best album.

Beatles really makes for an awesome party...not sure if it's the music or the harmonies or what, but you can get more people jumping on the mic more easily than any other game.

And Ronabo, I'm still reading, heh...and, yeah, seeing Ladysmith is an incredible live performance, though I was rather young when I saw them. Wouldn't mind going again if I'm ever aware of them coming around.

Also, Coke is cool:

Oh, and Metallica's best album is the mix tape you put together on your own. Seriously, I find every one of their albums to have incredible tracks, but also have incredible weak spots. I can't think of another 'great band' that is less consistent. (note, I probably can, but not in my current lost-an-hour hazy mental state)

charts are where it's at, but when you have something that is awesome AND has a great chart? megawin
Wrong. Good charting will NEVER EVER EVER make up for the quality of the song itself. (Please know that the opposite is not true : Great songs with shitty charts are not fun to play at all.) (Also of note : Easy chart ≠ Bad Chart)

Mudd on the Tires and Sin Wagon are still awesome on guitar even though the songs are fucking horse shit.

I also recommend it. It was touching in spots as well, as the main guy of the group was having his son take over on some songs.
