Rocket League Championship Series - Finals this Weekend

Go EU! I was baffled when I saw the brackets on the rocket league title screen, I was "what happened to wdg?" and then I discovered they just got into northern gaming.
Anyway already some sick plays.
The venue seems quite small, was expecting more tbh, but it's just season 1 so.. There's time.

Oh, wow that's cool that people actually got payouts for the online finals. I had just assumed the prize pool was being saved for the LAN matches.

I bet in a year or two they'll copy the DOTA2 model and sell some in-game item that produces a massive prize pool for the tournament.

It only works for DotA 2 because Valve controls the store front page and can push their own product first.

They also take 75% cut of Compendium sales.

They need to just keep it at a third person perspective.

It's not like football players in real life walk around with GoPros and occasionally we see the action from their point of view

BTW, first time I saw the name "we dem girlz" in the eu qualifier I thought "an all female team? Fucking awesome!"
Anyway this game is so fun to watch, even those who don't play the game are easily invested.

This is fun to watch, thanks for the heads up GAF. Anyone know if Hollywood Principle is playing tomorrow as well? I missed their performance :(

Oh man Flipside vs Cosmic so early on in the series. I thought we'd see that at the finals tbh. I hope flipside makes it.

Some of these players look quite young.

Yeah but I feel like RL DLC does really well and it has a pretty strong community. If they put out a $2 hat or something, a lot of people would buy it IMO.

damn that was a good first game, come on Mock-it...

stream is incredible as well. what good coverage. such fun to watch.

exodus seemingly in charge, better goals, passing is crazy and amazing saves

Disappointing performance by Mock, both Sikii and Paschy seemed a little off, but Exodus are great, I love watching them play, their passing play and rotations are stellar

Organizers did an amazing job going through the community and finding good and knowledgeable personalities to cast and at the desk. Entertaining passionate and likeable group.

I haven't watched any pro-level rocketleague at all except maybe 1 or 2 of the continental qualifiers, so I don't even know the team names, but the way the commentators were talking I was expecting Paschy to do some amazing stuff. He seemed to not be feeling it, or maybe exodus just shut their game down.

At higher levels you don't get to do loads of fancy individual stuff most of the time as people are aggressive and will shut that down ASAP.

Its about the passing, rotation and winning contact/positioning.

So car choice actually affects hitbox?
Yes, and turning speed (and acceleration/aerodynamics but it's a contentious subject in some quarters) - there's pros and cons. Something like the Gizmo has high sides making side-on shots and blocks easier and more powerful but it's harder to do some of the font/rear flick shots you can do in something like the Dominus.

There's stuff in between like the aforementioned Octane which enables you to do all sorts. Handy in the air also.

jesus the flying dutchman guys seem like a proper cock.

'to all the people who didnt want to team up with me.... i was right' haha fuck off
