It doesn't fit with the rest. I'm open for new layouts but the slanted floor and the funnel goals make it way to easy. Plus the graphical style is too distracting for me personally.

Pretty sure Jeff has specifically said they didn't want something like that in the game, because it would feel weird to him.

In general he has always been very much against the potential conflict of interest there would be, if they featured in the games they are expected to give their honest opinion about.

At the same time, the Beastcast joked about really wanting to be in there though! I get where Jeff is coming from, but in this case when there is a bunch if community flags for different websites including Gamespot, I think it would be strange to have a problem with a GB flag. But whatever, it's not a big deal.
 
Downloaded the update and can launch the game fine. But when I'm matchmaking the game will cause my computer to lock up and it will reset. Huh, guess I'll wait to see if any more folks experience that.

Kind of strange, I was able to play the game fine all week until this patch.
 
Great news, can't wait!

Still wish they allow Season Mode to be played online with friends though, playing an actual season co-op with my friends against NPCs is far and away my favourite thing to do in game, and it sucks it has to be local.

Yeah I agree, it would be pretty cool. But keeping Giant Bombs integrity as pure as possible, just seems like one of Jeff's pet peeves and considering how things went down with his last job, you really can't blame him.
 
First impressions of the new maps, playing in Exhibition..

Underpass: amazing
Utopia: interesting but slow to score
Double goal: too easy to score

I love the Tron designs, by the way. Suits the game well.

Yeah, and SoFloAntonio is one of the biggest Facebook guy who steals content and doesn't credit the original creators. Also not really gaming related.
They post gaming stuff there but it's really just stolen.

Rocketbeans is a big (at least in Germany) gaming related community and they wanted to do it for a while, honestly 9GAG is really bad and shouldn't have been allowed there.

Still popularity is the biggest factor in getting flags and toppers added to RL.

That's Utopia retro.

These new maps are fun. Can't wrap my head around them yet. RL is my first foray to this franchise so i'm not used to the crazy maps yet.
 
Personally stoked that Wasteland is in ranked play now. I like the map and I like variety. And it's not overly different.

New maps suck hardcore. I can't believe there are people that WANT that shit.

When's Marvel Hockey unranked mode coming back?

you can play hockey in private matches now

i like that horseshoe/donut map

the one with elevated sides is trash

This is a good idea. I also kind of enjoy the placement art anyway; has a Tron vibe.

Can't wait to get home and dl this.
 
Has anyone been having bad stuttering problems since this update? Also, I've gotten disconnected from 2 of the 4 competitive matches I've played.
 
Hmm the new maps are pretty good except for the doughnut one which seems awfully small and rarely seems to rely on any air play. Also like wasteland its hard to tell how the ball will bounce on the curved walls...

Other two are much better but seem a bit too big when playing 3v3. Really like the one that has two levels, lots of boosts and some insanely high aerials

There's almost no one streaming this and not much discussion from what I've seen despite this being the first big update for the game, do people just not care about Rocket League anymore?
 
Love the new maps.

Everyone is behaving well now that there's a report function.

But.... They went a bit too far with idle time kicking. I was kicked for taking about 6, 7 seconds to type a message while on the opposite side of the field.

Seriously? That's dumb. What if you're playing sweeper and are waiting for the ball to come back to your side of the field?

Rocket league has it's steady stable of streamers and youtubers and it's community is a good size and still growing but it will probably never be in the public eye as much as it was at launch because of the PS+ thing.

Also two of the unlisted Uncommon drops. Don't know how many are there.
