lol @ the "RDR is empty" argument vs. GTAV as if GTAV is some kind of massive step up. If you don't like the theme/environment, that's one thing, but GTAV is just as "empty" from a world interaction standpoint. The biggest difference between them is the setting and modes of transport. Granted, those are pretty big differences at face value, but the way you interact with the worlds are very much the same: You're either shooting people, or riding/driving. If the amount of buildings and people, and cars vs. horses makes that much of a difference, you're simply not a fan of the Western theme.
 
As much as I loved RDR, maybe my favorite game this gen, I think I'd rather have another Bully. A next gen Bully game could really kick ass and we didn't really get a Bully game this gen. The scholarship edition doesn't really count. I want a Bully game on that RAGE engine.
 
I loved RDR, easily one of the best games this gen BUT I think it is way too soon to return to it ( i mean the location, the wild west)

I would take a new bully over GTA6 right now.

I would also take a new midnight club over a new Red dead game too.

If they even think about releasing a Midnight Club, and they set it in the US, i'm gonna go on a meltdown.
With all their crap about the Americana, and why GTA has to cycle the same 3 cities forever, at least with other series they could drop it.

Even Max Payne 3, technically set in Brazil, was still all about the US.

Give me a Midnight Club set in the Japan of the 90s, Initial D style, give me one set in Turkey in the 80s, give me whatever, just not Los Angeles, New York or whatever city i've already seen 500 times.

I think RDR makes up for it in atmosphere, but vehicle variety is a big part of GTA, and RDR with only horses (and donkeys!) doesn't really make up for it in that sense.

an Red Dead sequel is definitely in the works. The last game was a massive hit both commercially and critically.

I personally wouldn't mind a new LA Noire. I loved the vibe of the first game they just dropped the ball on the interrogation stuff, which, if they had nailed, would have really made the game stand out. Wouldn't mind Rockstar's internal team taking over the franchise.
 
Another Red Dead would be fantastic. I doubt it would be a direct sequel to Red Dead Redemption, however, if related at all... that's why I doubt it would have "Redemption" in the title.

Edit: Also only have one playable protaganist please... it weakened the narrative in GTAV.

To me, it's not a big difference because GTAV didn't make them a big difference. All the flight missions were simple, there were no dogfights, all the vehicles feel about the same in missions and most of the time you can't even use your custom vehicle, etc., etc. If you're simply not a fan of Westerns and can't play these games without vehicles, or if the "car collection" part of open world games means that much to you, fine, I get that. But to act as if GTAV is filled with content and world interaction to the point that it puts RDR to shame is pushing it IMO. A lot of the "content" in GTAV is fluff, and the more substantial ones like strangers, random events, and bounties come straight from RDR, albeit expanded since then.

This is no brainer,RDR2 or Bully 2.

Also maybe the sequel to Manhunt or Max Payne if they are regarded as famous IP by Rockstar.

Eh, i don't think you could've used a shitty car for a mission like the one with Franklin chasing down the two luxury cars (
to then frame them as Michael and Trevor
).
They do little with air stuff though, i agree there.

I like the Western setting a great deal, so it isn't a problem for me, but i found disappointing the fact that they had only one transportation to handle (basically, since you also have the shotgun and such) but they didn't really made it deep enough.
I thought the horses got boring to control really early in the game, whereas a game like Shadow of the Colossus is still untouched in that department.
You've got Agro seriously being an alive beast doing his thing, and you constantly have to keep him in line, but it's also not a stupid minigame or gimmick, something RDR barely touches on.
The result is something that doesn't feel as alive as it should (and as it does in SotC) but it's not as varied as the vehicle park seen in a GTA.

I guess this all comes back to me not really liking the mechanics enough to use "the sandbox." Helicopters feel terrible, and the best plane in the game takes trial & error to get from the military base. They're fun to cruise around in and skydive from, but that doesn't make or break the game for me in the slightest. After ~70 hours to finish the main missions without really pursuing that area of the game, you can see where I sit on this matter.

The horses in RDR don't quite have enough personality, I agree. It's something I'd love to see expanded on in a sequel with more horse attributes that come into play as you "break" them. At the same time, since the horses pretty much become just another vehicle, it's not much of a difference maker to me, personally. Aside from speed, the different vehicles classes in GTAV don't have a huge hand in changing how I play except during certain missions where they purposely make it difficult by having you lose police in a bus, or whatever.

IDK man, cars and planes vs. horses doesn't make a difference to me. Those are simply factors of the time, environment, and theme of a game. If, say, GTAV became half a car sim, or RDR was half horse training simulator, maybe I'd see it differently. As it is, I'm able to keep the experiences separate, and enjoy them for what each is trying to accomplish. Ultimately, it's how the player interacts with the world and its people that most interests me, and in that regard, the games aren't that different. They're both very simple in the way you get around, they're both very simple in missions (kill or be killed), they're both very simple in how you interact with the world and its people. Red Dead just has less buildings and people so apparently it's "empty." I don't get it. GTAIV was more dense than either game yet I doubt you'd find anyone saying that game was jam packed with content.
 
The wording makes me think its something other than "just" a videogame IP. I don't know, I just feel like they would have worded it differently had it been their own IP. The famous part, specifically, has me thinking that its a licensed property.

There are so many options in the wild west. Native Americans, lawmen, outlaws. A multiple character story for the next Red Dead would be amazing.
 
I hope it's bully so I can be saved from another rockstar attempt at multiplayer that'll just end up a deserted wasteland because of how unbalanced and segregation based their entire multiplayer design is.
