They were all speed heads. Amphetamine is what made the show and gave them the courage to do what the did.. or atleast Knoxville said so in an interview.
.

I believe it. I remember doing some dumb shit and thinking "man, the Jackass dudes must be on drugs to withstand so much pain"

Its kind of funny, but a show like this wouldnt really last these days when you can jump onto youtube and see people do shit every bit as dumb and stupid as was in Jackass. i remember watching it fairly recently and thinking how tame it was compared to some of the stuff on the internet now.

The third movie came out in October 2010 and grossed more worldwide than the first two combined.

Also, couldn't have said this better myself:

Jackass is kind of unique in the way it intertwines friendship ( the chemistry between the cast-members is genuine, and makes me - as a viewer - care for them ), surprisingly deep understanding of the human condition ( we love to watch people embarrass and hurt themselves when we know it is being done in jest and with consent - the very essence of physical comedy ), and danger. Knoxville is such a genuine, emphatic guy that I can't think of a better front-man for a troupe of ( lovable ) oddballs.

I know I am using poetic words here, describing Jackass no less, but I just honestly think that the show is so much more than just gross antics and sick stunts. It somehow studies humanity better than most shows out there. I might be hyperbolic, but it is one of the defining phenomena of my generation.

Bravo.

Ryan Dunn you dumbass. I miss him and just get so angry and saddened by his death.

Bam was just the worst. he was all laughs as long as he was doing shit to people but he couldn't take shit when it was happening to him. One hitter quitter.

Arkos is just upset his insurance won't cover the procedure to have that stick taken out of his ass.

And damnit, I forgot Ryan Dunn passed away, now I'm sad.

Slapstick like the 3 stooges was natural for me from when i was little, though "adult" stupid humor took a while to set in for me. By the time i was 17 and went to see Jackass 2, well, it was perfect timing.

You could definitely see they were starting to run out of steam with 3D, though, but a few of the gags were still tight.

Apparently Steve-O got sober to get over his alcoholism before that film, so there's a sort of pathos where he realizes just how much it sucks to do this shit sober, it just adds to the humor, imo.

I rewatched the series a few months ago. It was much shorter and wasn't as funny as I remembered. Watching the movies though still made me laugh my ass off.

For some reason, the SECOND time they pull the snake pit on Bam was the best because you can just see how upset he is and then stepped in the hole in the ground and it nearly broke him.

I have to question your sense of humor if you don't think Knoxville returning a destroyed rental car and trying to get them to cover it isn't hilarious.

"But it's got a full tank of gas."

Completely lost all interest when these guys start playing with shit all the time.

Such a putrid and wretched show and series of movies but I love it! Not a guilty pleasure at all, just plain fun. I will never regret enjoying Jackass.*edit*

Favorite segment from Jackass is the trick terrorist prank LOL.

Bam was the worst, an obnoxious fucking cry baby who couldn't handle anything directed at him. I can't stand the guy.

Love everyone else though, and Wild Boyz was the shit.

This made me wonder if Bam's crazy uncle Don Vito is still around. Turns out that guy is now a registered sex offender for groping a minor

Dude was fucking crazy on the show. The episode where he pulled out his infected toe...barf

I hope a Jackass documentary comes out that shows us how the sausage was made.

I mean, I know that as soon as Dave England stopped pooping a bunch of lawyers and other Viacom hellspawn stormed the place and started cutting checks and getting people to sign waivers, but I want details.

I have no idea what any of this is referring to but it sounds incredible. What's the story?

I remember watching the Jackass movie in theaters and laughing till I couldn't breath! I remember the whole audience basically in uncontrollable laughter. I've never experienced anything like it in a movie theater before or since. It was really surreal to be apart of that moment!

The first Jackass movie in the theaters was a magical moment. I went with like five people, the place was sold out, and the entire time people were in hysterics. My stomach hurt I was laughing so hard.

I think I need to rewatch all of it. The series and the movies. Was Bad Grandpa any good?
