Rottenwatch ---> The Bourne Ultimatum

My most wanted movie of the summer.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the first two. I got them on HDDVD last week and have been watching them almost non stop.

If this movie is good (which it sounds like), greatest trilogy ever confirmed.

The first movie is better, but the second movie is more awesome just for the rooftop scene.. "what if we cant find her".. "that should be easy, she's standing right next to you". OWNED

Also: Lesson to people who make bad triologies.. the sequals dont have to be "Bigger Better Faster" than the original. I swear trying to make the sequal seem "biiger" has destroyed many a franchise.

The Bourne Identity is my favorite action movie of all time. The second wasn't as good but it was still better than any other action movie ever made IMO so this one absolutely can't fail for me. :D

Supremacy will always be inferior because
they killed off Marie. :( Damn bastards.

I always thought the Bourne films were a tad overrated. Bourne's a bad ass, no doubt, but every single side character with a good amount of screen time is an insufferable dim wit. I hope Bourne just massacres every last member of Treadstone so I no longer have to loathe their presence.

I am definitely gonna watch this. But i can't catch it till saturday. Damn it. I want to "bourne" jason's children. YA GET IT!?! BAHHAHAHAHAHAHH.

Hell yeah. This will kick ass. This has been my most anticipated movie of summer 2007 since its release date was announced. I hope that Greengrass goes a little easy on the shaky cam this time around though. Let me see the fights!!!

I'm psyched for it. Hope it doesn't have any shaky cam crap, though. The evil shaky cam ruined some of the most promising scenes in Supremacy.

He allready did that in Supremacy, he killed the one guy in his house who was the last surviving member of treadstone then the old head guy shot himslef. Then the one guy (the old number 2 for treadstone in langley) was offed by the head guy when he figured out bourne was being set up. I guess the girl is still alive.

Dammit! It looks like my worst fear has come true.

From the first negative review on rottentomatoes:

In the hazy opening sequence, Jason Bourne (Matt Damon) dispenses with a gallery of tough guys, though you'd be hard-pressed to say exactly what's happening onscreen.

Damn you, Greengrass. DAMN YOU!!!!

I've still got to watch the second one! I dont know why, but I never went to he cinema to watch it and I never rented it or bought it on DVD. Its quite shameful. I'll pick up the dvd in the next couple of days and I'll probably buy the dvd of the bourne identity too.

Ok guys, for me this actually is a big issue with the movie.

Does it have the shaky cam from Supremacy?

I did not watch it in theatres because of that crap. I just recently saw it on DVD and it was even annoying with that. Children of Men is about as shaky as I can handle, so seriously how is Ultimatum in that regard?

I hope that's not what he means...that scene is so ****ing fast. Tha action is simply amazing. Like I said in other thread about The Bourne Ultimatum: the Waterloo scenes are incredible.

Has anyone confirmed if there is a lot of shaky cam in it?

I have to disagree with everyone who dislikes the shaky cam--I feel it is a necessary part of the gritty reality, speed, and flow of the movies. With that said, I am partial to it--so read this with caution.

There are shaky cam scenes. But Greengrass's publicist told me that he addressed some of the shortcomings of Supremacy's shaky cam. The difference between this movie and Supremacy, though, is that despite the camera work, a viewer is still able to fully concieve everything going on while still balancing the realism of high-speed fights and chaos.

I think it's better in this film than it was in the last.

But can they do so without needing to leave halfway through and take 2 excedrin?

Saw this last night, it was just brilliant, the movie has just raised the bar for action.

And not cheesy Die Hard 4 action but action shot-in-almost documentary style, truly engaging **** me-I'm-right-in-the-middle of it and that didn't just happen surely action.

That and the ****ING AMAZING MUSIC SCORE = a hell of a good time.

i had no problems with the shaky cam, but i do know of a couple of people who felt nauseous due to the shaky cam

The shaky cam isn't that bad really. The problem was that we got to movie 2 late and had to sit in the second row. That and shaky cam do not mix well. :D

i didn't really enjoy it as much as the other two. I felt that the story wasn't really fully developed as it seems they just concentrated on puttin action scene after action scene on screen. but i guess that's just me.

I'm not jsut talking about them, but people like Pamela Landy, who just a twat to no end. "JASON BOURNE IS A GOD, AND HE WILL MURDER US ALL, SO DON'T EVEN TRY TO WIRE TAP HIM" or some shit. Like, how about you stop doubting yourself and outthink a guy who went through your own damned training, you know?

I love the shaky cam sequences. Makes the fights more real and the action more believable. Im tired of steady cam action that feels scripted. At least with the handheld cam, you feel like you're part of the action. Eh, I guess its all personal taste though. Im probably one of the few people to actually like Miami Vice and Micheal Manns camera work. Really brought out the over the top feel and decadence of the 80's drug scene into the new century. Anyways, back on topic, does this movie have an early screening? I can't wait till friday and want to see it today if possible.

Landy had nothing to do with Bourne and Threadstone. She wouldn't have known the types of training Bourne would have recieved. Remember, in Supremecy they barely discovered the workings of Threadstone. And Landy acted accordingly to the situation. She was the field director of the operation and was investigating the case. The group with her did not know of the secret, non-normal spy training Bourne had recieved. To them, Bourne looked more like a rouge agent on the run, then a super agent gone awol.

And if you were one of the people who complained about Greengrass and his use of “shaky-cam” on BOURNE SUPREMACY, I think you might be pleasantly surprised this time out. It’s still incredibly kinetic filmmaking, but it seems like he really listened to the problems people had last time, and he’s refined the style, giving shots a few extra seconds, allowing you a better chance at getting your bearings in the action. It’s not like he threw out his entire approach to shooting action... he’s just gotten better at it.

Speaking of Treadstone,
was it just a supposed training operation which was actually a some sort of hidden way that the senator could make money?. I'm trying to wrap my head around the whole story...someone help me out here. I know the Senator was a bad dude.....what was the hidden agenda of Treadstone and ultimately, Jason Bourne?

ok you bastards. you're making me have to tivo So You Think You Can Dance tonite so I can go watch Bourne Supremacy now. Way to go, dicks. :lol

My guess...political/special interest gain
Go watch Shooter.

:lol Damon is on the daily show tonite. good interview.

Damon: "I did read one negative review online that said 'Will someone get this guy a ****ing steadycam?'"

jon was talking about acting and Damon is saying how he was working on a movie where they were taking bets on how many oscars it'd win. Jon goes "When I was on Death to Smoochie, the crew was taking bets on who would never work in film again."

stewart just stares at the camera. damon started laughing and goes "well it wasn't ed norton." :lol

He wasnt a Senator, he was a career CIA man.

Treadstone was funded as a "training" program by the congress. It was a cover for a black ops operation that wasnt really controlled by the CIA. It was controlled by a couple of guys.. some of what they did (stealing money from the Russians) was done for the financial benefit of the people controlling treadstone. Treadstone basically was a rouge operation within the CIA that had run amock.. which is what makes someone like Landy not that bad of a person. She things Bourne is a rouge agent and doesnt know exactly what was going on in treadstone..

If you think about it, in the first movie CIA leadership was upset that someone tried to kill the extradited politico that was threatening to name names about CIA operations in Africa. Obviously, the people controlling treadstone wanted him dead because they didnt want the CIA finding out what they are doing. In the second movie the whole thing was trying to cover up treadstones involvement of fleecing the Russian government of billions of dollars.. knowing they were about to be busted, treadstone tried to pin it on a dead guy and bourne (who was supposed to be dead) to sell the theory that a couple of rouge agents had gone corupt to cover themselves.. I got the feeling from the movies that treadstone had become horribly corrupt and was basically all about a few people making a ton of money (including the agents, who all seem to have had alot of money based on their apartments).

94%!!! Holy **** we've got a monster on our hands here ladies and gents. **** YEAH!!!

Just got back, it was pretty damn good. The shaky cam does return, but I didn't find it as bad... you have an easier time seeing what is going on this time.

Also, I highly recommend watching the first two movies before you go see this one. Especially Supremacy. Ultimatum and Supremacy are literally two halves of the same film.. it's cool how they fit together.

Crap, forgot this came out tonight. I want to try and catch it and they better be handing out extra-absorbent tissues, as my man-love for the two previous flicks knows no legal bounds.
