That would have been an epic cock-up. Although I wonder what the 'cool' catch-phrase was...

"Look upon my ship... [CRASH!] and despair."

"Owl be seeing you."

"I cry fowl."

"The bird... [CRASH!] is the word."

Just came back from a sneak preview of the movie, the story seems to jump around a lot but the action scenes were really good. Crowd seemed divided in the theater some loved it, some not so much.

Just change the
Boomerang killing Adrian to Owl-ship killing Adrian

Anyone planning on picking up the Watchmen Motion Comic on Blu Ray day after tomorrow? Any opinions on the motion comic?

david edelstein's watchmen review on CBS SUNDAY MORNING today was pretty negative. it was also full of misinformation about the relationship between the comic and the movie. he claimed the movie kept the comic's ending (false, of course) and seemed to have very few real criticisms of anything really wrong with the movie itself.

I've only seen the first chapter. Hearing Laurie being voiced by a guy was...weird.

I woke up in a haze to the phone ringing late last night. It was my friend, who ended up getting 4 passes for an early screening on Tuesday.

Hyped doesn't quite cover how I'm feeling about now.

Let us know how good it is you lucky bastard.

so far the only top critic reviews on rottentomatoes are all negative, so i am assuming that most of the positive ones are just drooling fanboys...i hope i'm pleasantly surprised, but i'm lowering my expectations now

That's what it looks like. Pending more reviews I doubt I'll see this in theaters.

Pretty cool that Amazon takes an extra 5% off the regular Watchmen trade when you buy it with the Dark Knight Returns trade. Both combined come out to like 20 bucks and some change.

Not any kind of special editions or anything, but still.

I have read Watchmen like three or four times, but it's been a while. And I think one of my 'friends' might have lost the trade I used to have. :( Oh well, I'll just make sure I hold on to this one.

Umm, what? right now 50% of the top critic reviews are positive, and most of the things the THR review criticizes were already in the book.

edit: granted, the thr review is pretty stupid
Exactly, these reviewers probably figure that since it's a comic book superhero movie that they can check their brain at the door and then they're all like "waaaaaa my brainnnn i neeeeed it"

Got my tickets for a press screening tomorrow night! I may do a podcast review for my website with some friends. Would be people be interested in that?

"Warner Bros went into bankruptcy today after the big budget blockbuster Watchmen failed to earn even $500. When several internet comic book nerds were questioned, they all stated in one way or another that the idea of seeing a film that got less than a 62% seemed outrageous, and that only a lifetime n00b would be caught watching the Watchmen. Internet reviews mean everything!

Non-comic book/internet geeks simply stated 'What the hell is Watchmen? That thing with all the slow-motion shots and Smashing Pumpkins music? Nah, I hate the Smashing Pumpkins. I won't be seeing it'."

Im booking my tickets this week to see it at the IMAX on release... there is no way im going to miss out on this awesome!!

I love reading some of the Rotten Tomatoes reviews. Most of the people are just a bunch of wanna-be's that use big words and complex sentances to try to sound intelligent. And it fails!

People that are panning this are probably the same people that would have panned Blade Runner back when it came out.

Or the same people who panned Zodiac.
