GAF member impressions:
sevenchaos said:Inconsistent special effects. Inconsistent acting. Gambit was goofy. Wolverine was goofy Plot twist was totally unnecessary.
Liev Schreiber was fuck awesome..
RubxQub said:Was thoroughly entertained. Intro was really put together well. The action was nice. The humor was good and sarcastic.
Aside from the very odd liberty they took with a certain character at the end, I thought the movie was good.
El Pascado said:I just got back from a midnight show. I actually like this movie a lot more than all the other X-Men movies. I don't understand the Internet hate for things like this sometimes...
fisheyes said:Pretty damn bad. Couldn't be bothered waiting for the secret ending.
Alivor said:The special effects on the plane near the beginning was horrible...
MIMIC said:Very meh.
Critics comments (RT):
A transparent attempt to squeeze a faltering franchise for its last drop of box-office juice.
Wolverine doesn't hold a candle to the X-Men trilogy and is a big step back for the franchise in general.
X-Men Origins: Wolverine has more than enough spark to reignite the franchise.
Lacks any real sense of gravitas and intensity.
Hugh Jackman is this film's biggest redeemer - a truly likeable lead actor with screen presence and menace.
The result is a superbly cast film with attention to detail, concern for character - and the odd touch of dry humour
May not be the final drop in the X-Men cash bucket but its clear that whatever creative well fans wished upon for their beloved series has been officially dried up.
The film is a fast-paced spectacle filled with action, drama, romance, wry humour and technical wizardry, catering for a sophisticated audience. At the risk of sounding trite, it's simply Marvel-lous.
A film GAF is far from being hyped-up for. There has been a lot of resentment for the portrayal of Deadpool, but it looks like Jackman is what will hold this film together.

Yes, I have pretty much copied Cheebs' format from the Star Trek thread. It's a good layout, why fuck with it?
