New, limited-time Doritos Roulette lets you gamble with your tongue: each bag features the occasional ultra-spicy, hot tortilla chip among the standard Doritos Nacho Cheese chips. They all look the same but your tongue will know the difference.

The concept was first introduced in Mexico and has since found its way into other countries over time, including Canada last year.

Doritos Roulette chips are available nationwide for a limited time only in 9.5-oz. bags with a suggested retail price of $4.29 each. They can also be found in 3-oz. bags with a suggested retail price of $1.49 each.

They just came out in Australia too, we grabbed some for a poker night with friends.

Pretty disappointed with the lack of spice, literally had 3 in a row and it was just making my tongue slightly tingle.

I'm going to guess that they are not even remotely spicy, just like every other chip that claims to be spicy.

I don't really get the appeal of the product though -- people that want spicy will just be annoyed by all the plain chips, people that want plain will be annoyed by all the spicy chips.

Oh wow you guys dont have these yet? They are pretty good, although my first experience wasn't the greatest, as I managed to grab all the hot ones in a row.

One isn't bad at all, but once you have about 7, it pretty hot.

Doing this properly (i.e. with properly spicy chips mixed in with regular/nacho cheese chips in a bowl, but still indistinguishable from each other) could be fun as a party prank.

This is actually awesome.

I don't really see the point. If you want spicy get spicy if you don't get plain. I don't understand what demographic they are going for.

That's the most evil thing i've seen this week hahaha!

Well on the weekend the misses put Chicken chips in a bowl, guests at about half and then she topped up the bowl with Barbeque chips. I called her on it in the kitchen and she goes no one will notice!

GASP, no one noticed

So I guess roulette chips can go under the radar. I'd rather the Doritos are just all spicy anyway.

I prefer dropping these

in a bowl of regular ol' jelly belly's

Like the quote says, these came out in Canada a while ago.

They're really not that good. It's basically regular nacho cheese flavor with a few spicy chips mixed in. The spicy chips can sometimes be a little bit spicy, compared to other "spicy" doritos flavors, but they are so few and far between it's silly. The novelty of looking for spicy chips wears off quickly when you eat quite a few without any distinguishable difference in flavor.

This could be fun. The only time I buy doritos is when my mom brings some salsa botanera from Mexico and I just drench the doritos in it. :3

My god. I need to do that to someone. The M&Ms and Reese's would work pretty well together. Skittles is the party crasher there.

Didn't expect them to come to Australia but it's probably like every other 'spicy' snack that gets released here. I remember when they released the spicy doritos. I grabbed some hoping they'd kind of fill the space hot cheeto puffs did when I was in the states and I came out sorely disappointed.

Spicy snacks in Australia just don't measure up to the spicy snacks over there.

Unfortunately, this is is true. I was hoping they would be much hotter! Big let down!

See, I don't know what it is about Doritos (or any Frito Lay product for that matter). I have a decent "heat" tolerance, but their stuff always seems too spicy for me. Like Flamin' Hot Cheetos... way too hot, but when I'm eating chicken wings or something I get flavors that I know are hotter than that. I'm broken.

I laughed harder at this than I should have for some reason.

Considering my favorite flavors are Spicy Nacho & Ranch Dipped Hot Wings (what happened to Blazin' Buffalo & Ranch?), maybe I'll give this a try. Though I wonder if my love for buffalo flavored foods will dampen the spiciness of these roulette chips unless they go all out.

M&M's and Reese's Pieces mix surprisingly poorly. I think it's due to the "waxy" coating on the Reese's. If you have any humidity in the house it all rubs off way too much onto the M&M's making for a peanut butter candy that then seems bitter since the chocolate isn't as sweet as the outer now-peanut-butter-shell would have you believe.

The superior Doritos

So what's suppose to be the ratio of hot to plain chips? 1 hot to every 5 plain? Changes depending on the bag?

This had been in Canada for a very long time. I wish I can get the spicy chip every time.

The spicy chip is not the same flavour as the Doritos spicy bag. I found it to be much hotter.
