Here's an obscure one - Sorcerer's Kingdom on the Genesis. It's a bit slow-paced, broken as shit, and awfully obtuse, but since nobody else brought it up...

There's also Traysia, which is a giant, open world RPG for the Genesis, where battles play out like the early Ultima games. Probably even worse than Sorcerer's Kingdom, though.

I second Arc the Lad, also look into Twilight of Spirits on PS2, it's the only one I've played but I enjoyed it.

Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter also had SRPG elements to its combat.

Great nods. Especially for BOFV, that game is so good.

I have tried Twilight of Spirits a few times but the characters just rubbed me the wrong way, couldn't make it past the first couple of hours...
