Shit, if thats the case everyone go sign a petition to have them port Ridge Racer PSP, Ridge Racer 7, and ALL future Ridge Racer games to PC!(Unbounded doesn't count) :D

They didn't make Dark Souls, they published it.
 
If the game is as good as Demon's Souls PC gamers would be happy. I'm not sure how it would control with a mouse though.

I don't see a lot of problems with kb/m since there's not much emphasis on the analogue movement. You basically run all the time anyway. They should add manual aiming for magic, I thought that was always broken. That said, I'd play it with a controller anyway - 1080p and a stable framerate alone would make it worth it.

not if you're sneaking, slow walking can assist with many a backstab. my imaginary kb+mouse control scheme:

WSAD move + mouse rotate camera
left mouse = left hand light attack / raise shield
right mouse = right hand light attack
Q = left hand heavy / parry
E = right hand heavy
alt = target lock, maybe F+G to switch targets?
left shift = run/roll/backstep etc.
space = pick up/talk etc.
left ctrl = walk slowly
capslock = toggle 2H.
tab = gestures / rate messages

something like that anyway. i would buy a pad just for this though.

It's not "port begging" when the developer publisher has (apparently) categorically expressed interest in bringing the game over to the platform in question.

Also, I thought the "Master Race" moniker was banned?

Has From Software ever commented about a PC port? Japanese developers rarely talk about PC. A Scamco USA community manager is not "the developer".

I read elsewhere in the thread that Scamco ported the game to the X360. My bad. I haven't been following the game (or this matter) to even the faintest degree.

re: the manual aiming thing. The finicky lock on is one of the few issues with the Souls game mechanically. It's more than just aiming magic, but also if you want to strafe with your shield straight ahead. There's one place in Dark Souls without much light and the game wouldn't lock on, and I kept dying because enemies would lunge out of the darkness but my character, and more importantly, my shield were facing the opposite direction because the lock on broke. There are some aspects that need an overhaul irregardless of the hypothetical PC version's kb/m control scheme.

also, depending on the circumstances, I'd rather have a PC version of the next "Souls" game rather than Dark Souls. I'm greedy because I already played it on PS3, even though PC is my platform of choice. I'd just wouldn't want From to have any speed bumps. Another company porting it would be totally fine. I don't know if Nixxes is an Eidos only developer, but they've done exceptional PC versions before, most notably the recent-ish Deus Ex HR.

also also, I still want Alien's Souls. Compile got it right over two decades ago.

I don't think it would feel right playing it with a KB+M.

I'd strongly recommend using a 360 controller to anyone playing it for the first time, if this actually ends up happening.
 
I'd double dip for a PC version. It was tons of fun on 360 but the benefits hold enough weight for a second purchase, especially if it includes any potential DLC.
 
It's crazy to see the petition explode like this. I don't have much hope we'll get it on PC, but it's nice to see the appreciation for one of the best games ever made.

Hopefully even if it doesn't come to PC lots of people who don't have a PS3 will get to play it one day. It's one of those games everyone should experience.

Dark Souls or Demon's Souls? The former is already available on 360 for those who have one but not a PS3, and the latter IP is owned by Sony so no chance in Hell it'll ever appear on any non-Sony format.
 
Oh yeah, I forgot Dark is a mulitplatform game! I never really considered getting it for my 360.

It's hard to imagine many serious PC gamers who would be interested in Dark not having at least one of the HD twins.

I just want everyone to play the game and appreciate it as the best thing ever :P

Many people who signed the petition are begging to double dip, since they already enjoyed Dark Souls on another platform and want to play it without all the slowdown. Also, you might want to take a look at the post I just linked.

I'm betting like many people here I already own Dark Souls, but a PC version means no frame-drop so I'm all for it.

At least here in central Europe it's more likely than you'd think. I know a lot more people interested in Dark Souls that don't own any consoles than ones that do. (Maybe it also has something to do with the age group, these are 20-somethings)
 
haha, seems like no one read between the lines in my post.... it was just ironic, of course I'd love to re-play (I already platinum'd DSouls) the game in higher resoultions, with a better framerate and improvements here and there, but the game as it is runs and plays perfectly fine on both PS3/360, there's no need at all for a PC port, we're not talking Skyrim PS3 precisely here...

Blighttown at a playable framerate (and the rest of the game at a solid 60).

Etc etc. Dark Souls is fucking great on consoles, but let's not pretend it wouldn't benefit from a PC port.
