I think Sony is going to hit a homerun with their PSN download service.

FF9, Puzzle Fighter and a remade version of X-Men Cota would be money though! :D :D

download demos and buy games from the playstation store. the following new ps3 games are available (including free demos):

...

under GAME ARCHIVES you'll find classic playstation titles. there will be about 10 new titles every month. download to ps3, play them on psp (not yet playable on ps3, will be possible at some point in the future).

----

i think the '10 new games every month' bit is new. and lemmings 2 available for download at launch might also be new.

Jumping Flash + Silent Bomber (****ING PS1 HEAVEN HAS BEGUN) !! Also I'm assuming we can still expect Jet-Moto 2, and the various other U.S. titles shown earlier will be available soon enough.. ?! Anyway, now lets just hope none of these download-able games are region locked (which I doubt).

Hotness !!

Silent Bomber is GREAT news, but I gotta wonder why they're even bothering with Tekken 2 since Tekken DR is out on the PSP. At least make it a Tekken 1-3 pack or something. Who's going to buy one old Tekken game when they have Tekken DR? Silly Scamco! :lol

Wow! Didn't think Sony could pull this off, but this is a ****ing good start. I'll be dling some of these on day one! Bishi Bashi special FTW!

Well I'm glad there'll be PSone downloadables on day one. Different execs seemed to be throwing out different timelines around gamers' day.

Kind of funny there's no Ridge Racer on day one given that was the first game they demoed the whole thing with :p

who wants RR when you have the RR7 demo for free? :D

If Sony can give me Jumping Flash! 2, Moto Racer, Raystorm, Wipeout 2097 and Felony 11-79 within the next few months, I'll buy a PSP just to download them.

so for jumping flash you don't need the analog stick(s), right? never played it

Nah, remember the Analog/Dual-Shock controllers didn't hit the scene until years after the PS1 launch (and was rarely mandatory needed afterwards).

EDIT:

Ahh, beaten

where is syphon filter?? I am going to buy the whole series online!

This is the Official Japanese release list, so I'm assuming the confirmed U.S. details are still on the way (which will hopefully still include Jet Moto 2, Syphon Filter, Twisted Metal, etc..).

I thought Sony already said Resistance and Motorstorm would have demos at launch. I guess its different for the region.

I'd love to get a Ridge Racer demo. That could definitely push me into buying the full product.

Well the PS3 won't be able to play PS1 games on day one either. Hopefully before the end of the year though.

So that means that it uses software EMU right? So downlaodable PS1 games could get a rez and AA boost?

where the heck is ridge racer 1???? come on sony, you`d show it at e3 for psp!!!!

Yeah, I'm really surprised by this considering that Namco is intent to get it on as many platforms as possible (like Sega is doing with Sonic 1 and SNK is with Metal Slug 1).

I played the cell phone version of RR1 and.... uh. But they did a pretty good job with Time Crisis!

Didn't they have the Jet Moto cover at the store demonstration at Gamers Day?

MotorStorm and Resistance are two other confirmed demos at launch day (as I'm sure you know).

Well, this is for Japan. The download lineup might be a little different for north america.....

Hopefully within a week we have a similar list from other SCE regions.

So... In about 25 years we'll have the whole PSOne catalogue available for download. :)
