Hey, BW had plenty of stuff to do! It's just that nearly all of that stuff can only be done once, or is only worth doing once.I also am enamored with big circles of nothing.
Platinum does the best it can to salvage the mess that D/P created, but it's still not enough. Sinnoh is just a fundamentally terrible region.
It doesn't have a mandatory water section that makes me want to stop playing every time it comes up so it's better than Johto by default.Platinum does the best it can to salvage the mess that D/P created, but it's still not enough. Sinnoh is just a fundamentally terrible region.

Fallacy.
Unova was easily the worst region. So boring.
Er, what? Don't you mean Hoenn? Johto didn't have that much water.
I disagree with him but I think not liking a region is a good enough reason to not liking a game.

Lots of little bad decisions led to a region that was more bad than good. Things like Black City/White Forest, how linear it is, and that giant waste of space Unova Link in the middle of the region, etc... hurt my opinion of Unova. I have lots of favorite pokemon from that generation, but the gym leaders, region, and weak E4 left me cold.qq more said:Unova was easily the worst region. So boring.
Absolutely, can't stand Jhoto and Unova. Never felt like revisit them.

same with me as well.Kanto as my second fav designed region. Hoenn is first.
I sort of find the Fallacy comment weird then. *shrugs*

The huge city was a big disappointment, I thought it was great at first, but when the novelty wore off... I ended up disliking it. Not only did I realize how ugly it kind of looked, but it was a really boring city with a really confusing layout. It just trades convenience for novelty.
Oh Castelia City? That place needed to be populated by more facilities, having local characters of its own, and ditch the dull look it had. Like you said, once the novelty wore off that was basically it in terms of appeal. I HATE the music for that place, good lord.
Driftveil was cool, especially in BW2. It had a distinct look, it was a port town, interesting layout, things to do and people to see, easy to get around, and the PWT was just to the south.
I only played diamond, kinda hated it, but this thread has me intrigued
It's not on 3DS shop is it?
Nah that would be too smart of Ninty to put it on the 3DS eShopIt's not on 3DS shop is it?
The only thing I really hated about Pearl was how frigging slow paced it was. I should really pick up Platinum someday, because lord knows I'll never be able to play Pearl again after playing Black and White.
Kinda off-topic; Black and White 2 is absolutely needlessly tutorialised. I don't need to know how to heal a Pokemon by now thanks.

The games are not only made with long-time players in mind.

Black and White (both games) have more tutorials and handholding than the other entries. Not by much, but it's noticeable.
Junichi Masuda said they make every pokemon game under the assumption that it's someone's first. In other words, they keep barriers of entry really low.
I think the reason there are more tutorials now is simply there's more stuff to do. That being said I think the old man in Fire Red (which I'm currently playing through) telling you how to catch Pokemon after you've already caught Pokemon is pretty ridonk.Yeah, to be fair in retrospect now I do remember telling your bitch mother in Gold you knew how to open the damn Pokegear and having her tell you anyway.
Gen IV's (DPPt) music is the best in the series.
