Ruin your favorite games by describing them in a single feature

Metal Gear Solid: I hope you like backtracking during dramatic story moments.

Pokemon: You cant actually catch em all.

Super Mario 64: Luigi wasnt invited to Peach's castle.

Silent Hill: The draw distances are abysmal. Cant even see directly in front of you!

Halo: Make it more accessible.
Haha yeah, but thankfully 343 has managed to balance that with also making the game balanced, competitive, and not filled with tedious fluff (though there's an argument for ground pound / spartan charge being fluff). The more casual crowd gets Warzone, while the more competitive crowd gets Arena.

Mario 3 - jump on stuff and grab money.

Firewatch - flirt with a woman out in the woods.

Castlevania - whip fruit to eat it and kill bats who are trying to eat you.

Strider - use the slashy thing to kill people.

Gone Home - discover that your little sister is a lesbian.

Redneck Rampage - do hillbilly shit to folks from out of town while eating pork rinds.

The Division - Grind for guns that are all the same, so you can grind for better guns that are all the same.

Wait...the Division is nowhere near being my favorite game.

Mass Effect - Alien dating sim.

Demon's Souls: Choose between having a partial health bar or possibly being attacked by other players that may be incredibly laggy and/or show up at the worst possible moment.

Pokemon: You cant actually catch em all.
You can't? I played till Gold and got all pokemons. You mean you can't catch em as in some can only be "caught" by evolving or new generations have pokemons you can't catch?

Resident Evil: It was a horro game, then it was an action game.

Metal Gear Solid: Killed the last boss? Hope you don't go to sleep soon cause a 1 hour movie is about to explain everything that happened behind the scenes.

I was being literal, though even since gen 1-2, there were exclusive pokemon players couldnt get outside of cheating or attending events (mew, celebi, etc.).

At this point there are so many that I dont know if it's even possible.

This doesn't apply to me, but when i described my favorite series to a couple friends they brushed it off when I said:

Fire Emblem it's like Chess...they didn't even let me finish.

Smash Bros. is a fighting game where there is no HP and you can only win with ring outs.

Fire Emblem is a JRPG where your party members can will be OHKO'd by random crits and die permanently.

Fire Emblem: You die, you die.

It's awesome and everyone should play FE in this mode.

edit: beaten by random crits.

Etrian Odyssey: Forget to place shortcuts on the map you drew.

Ni no Kuni: You're always low on MP.

Pikmin 3: Look at fruit.

Earthbound: Call mom or get homesick.

Final Fantasy IX: Get addicted to card games.

Persona 3/4: Look up answers to exam questions online.
