Rumor: Final Fantasy XV Launches September 30

Seems very realistic. It's hard to believe we saw XV in 2013 which was the reboot of the thing we saw in 2006. IT'LL ALL BE WORTH.

Yeah this game will need some amazing promotion, reviews and word of mouth.

It's a new (not sequel) mainline Final Fantasy... SE will spend a fuck ton of money to marketing including and after the March event.

There's just a long time since the last one so we forget.

Damn, I'm really hoping it's earlier: like in June or July.

I think it's possible technically, but they'd have to work against a tight deadline and if they would have to delay the game that would really not look great for them. Think September is the safest.

Keep in mind that this is only a rumor, but yeah, it sounds very true.

When console gaming were in a stagnant phase because of an absurdly long console generation (PS3, 360, Wii), sales were pretty low all across the board.

It's not surprising to see that figure.

It's not like Type-0 HD or Lightning Returns were mainline numerical installments anyways. So it's generally a given for a side game to not sell as much as a main FF release.

I don't think anyone expects what is more or less a side game to sell equivalently to a main FF title to begin with.

I figured it would be that date. MGSV had a similar date unveil and release. Sept is a good month, although we still don't know how much of the later half of the year will shape out at this point.

Curious to see where Persona 5 lands, if in NA this year at all.

The FFXIII promotion was really stupid, hope they have a better advertisement team this time. Judging from the recent Hitman, FF7R and Deus Ex trailers, they surely have a better team. Please don't drag someone into your car and make them play FFXV this time.

Hmm if Gears 4 is being released this year it will probably be in late October (unless there is a release date out or if it has been noted not to release this year). Hopefully this doesn't match up against the Destiny expansion this fall

Probably going to make a big announcement in that theater event that September 30th is the day, then just delay it again later. We've waited this long so what's the difference!

wasn't all that interested before because of the cast (just personal taste) but that last 'stealth and combat' video infiltrating the base and fighting the mech, very sort of Metal Gear and Deus Ex, has me pretty darn psyched ... probably my 2nd most anticipated game now after Deus Ex Mankind Divided. the road trip stuff looks pretty cool too in a FF XII 'traveling to Arcadia' sort of way, but I'm really interested in seeing the political, army, cities and mechs/bases sort of stuff... the trailers make me feel like the first half will be like FF XII and the second half sort of like a FF meets MGS/Deus Ex (which would basically make it the perfect game haha).

September is a good month. Destiny will attest to that.

Crossing my fingers that this game will be a return to form for the franchise.

Of course.. When college starts up again.

Persona 5 better be June/July/August then. No Man's Sky cannot be the only game carrying this summer of releases for me right now.

July and August are graveyards for releasing triple a games, always target around back to school.

If this was a few years sooner I'd of probably been really excited.

Hope they release that demo for all at some point so I can see if it will re-kindle my hype.

My birthday! What an awesome day it will be, also, who woulda thunk that after its re-reveal in 2013 we would still have to wait another 3 plus years? Crazy.

Why's that exactly? July/August is a holiday for students.

Think about it this way, it's summer the majority of folks spend their time outside playing, on vacation, camps, traveling and so on. It's the reason why we don't see a lot of big games release during this period. A gamer would say "more time for play!" But the reality is different. During fall everyone is usually home for the most part due to school and winter approaching.

Demo is kid Noctis so don't expect action.
Didn't numerous big games launch during this time? When did TLOU launch?
During e3 week or a few days later and that's fine because a lot of gamers are still in a buzz and extremely hype, NMS is releasing near the same time frame as well.
but guys
