It's too good to be true... Final Fantasy XV is coming guys, finally!
March 30th is the date!
I feel like this game will hit whatever date they say it will be here. I really don't think there will be a last minute delay. ( But if need be they should delay if it is for the betterment of the game)

I hope this game will be good. I feel like this entry will cement the reputation of FF forever after.
It's been 6 years since the last mainline game which tanked the series reputation. 10 years since the last good FF game. 15-16 years since the last perfect FF game (I'll leave that up to you whether it's IX or X)
If XV isn't a great game, an entire generation will have grown to adulthood without thinking of it as a top-shelf game series.

I still have a bad taste in my mouth because of FFXIII after all these years. Made even worse because two days ago I decided to watch on youtube the video marathons for XIII-2 and Lighting Returns (since I never played them and realised afterwards it was the right decision).
FFXV needs to clear all of our minds of how far down the franchise has fallen. It has an impossible task ahead, but it is its task nevertheless. Here's to hoping it is the Final Fantasy we need after all this time.

I still find it kinda surreal that it's coming to a close. I've been following this game since it was Versus XIII on the PS3 back in 2006. The re-reveal in 2013 reignited hope. Nomura's decline and Tabata's rise to power have been controversial, but necessary. Playing Episode Duscae was such a bitter sweet way to finally play it. It didn't leave the best impression, but then again, it's just a demo. Expectations should be kept in check.
The journey has been fun, but we will soon know when the finish line is in sight.
Summer for Japan maybe.
Star Ocean 5 is summer, DQ7 might be winter, Persona 5 might be summer......in Japan.
I just want FFXV to be as good as FFXII. FFXII didn't quite capture the feel of the old FFs (I'm not talking about a specific game element, just a general feel), but it shined in its own way and I love that game.
The old FF ended at IX and it can never get back unless Mr Sakaguchi himself comes back.

Yes! September is the perfect month for releasing FFXV. It's going to be a strong start for the fall gaming season

They are stuck between a rock and a hard place anyway.They have to release it to move on from it once and for all since they invested a lot in it and it in the current gaming climate I really doubt it will live up to the hype. You have to give them props for taking feedback in consideration this time.
I grew up playing NES-SNES and while I was a kid the FF games where the best RPGs in my eyes but as I grew older I kind of realized it's no longer the case for me. Not only because of XIII and it's sequels no one wanted but as you get older and have the financial means to buy more games you kind of realize there are a lot of good games outside of high profile titles. FFV is probably one of my top game of all time but there are a lots of CRPGs and JRPGs like the SMT series that are now better than FF to me.
FFXIII is kind of an eye opener though. It was a pretty game with pretty bad structural problems and gameplay problems and they doubled down on it with two sequels. You kind of realize they have no shame in using the FF brand. These days they are slapping the FF Brand on disappointing game like Type-0, cheap mobile scam like All the Bravest and some 3DS Monhon clone. FF sure doesn't have the same meaning to me.
I really despise anything Tabata touched and I find the J-POP like character design to be awful. I think I outgrew the series at this point but I'm still hyped for the XII HD port.

I don't think that's necessarily true. Having a hard, absolutist date isn't great either. That means a game could ship in a poor state.

Lol, of course. SE never not has several mainline FFs in different states of development. It's been in pre-production at least for 2-3 years now. Verendus started talking about it in 2013. FFXVII probably is in early concept-phase, too.
It might have been for a while now. The thing is when there will be a team available for it to enter active development.
The review thread will thread of legends regardles of the scores.
