That could be possible, but I dunno. I know it's different from what this article suggests, but I can see them making some "added value" initiatives like giving you limited (or maybe full) access to certain titles while you're subscribed to Gold. Basically, just something to counter PSN+ not that it's a threat or anything. They have nothing to lose, really, the XBLA library is big and it would give their subscribers another reason to re-up.

Maybe something like that, integrated with games from XBLA. Another thing maybe MICROSOFT didn´t see the PSN HOME as a rival but they see that this kind of practice made with HOME has given SONY a lot of revenue and to the third parties involved with the project too.

No chance. If they didn't keep 1 vs 100 why would they host other free games? This is from the company that charges developers to patch their games. Unless there is a revenue stream that can be linked to it (other than buying an Xbox or Gold) it won't happen. How would they justify it to the shareholders?

Came here to post this, really. With Microsoft's track record I really, really doubt this to be true. I'll be absolutely shocked if it is though. The only way I see this realistically happening is if it's exclusive to gold members, in which case it won't really be free.

back when the 360 was new and we were hearing about DLC this is the kind of things I expected to happen, and it sort of does a little bit LOL EA titles

But with that 2d slash em up coming out soon on live and with F2P games earning a fair bit of money lately I guess it's becoming a dedicated thing for microsoft.

I hope PSO 2 follows this route, subs killed PSU among other problems that game had.

At least F2P games live or die on in-GAME hooks rather then marketing campaigns.

It's too narrow period. Zynga is living off userbase bigger then all console generations combined and growing.
