My guess is that Gears 3 launches Fall 2010, and is the last big title for the 360. 2011 will be all about hyping the next Xbox, which will launch in Fall 2011 with a new Halo game from Microsofts newly assembled Halo team.

That would still fit the mold of Gears/Halo every other year, although I think the next next gen Halo is already being worked on.

Yeah this makes sense. Personally I would rather Gears 3 was a launch title for the next xbox but your theory is much more likely.

Gears 1 was just a more intimate experience. The set pieces were much nicer. The texture work was superior too IMO. I loathe the level design and lever-pulling gameplay in the sequel. Marcus was more bad-ass in the OG gears also. The voice acting was better as was the cutscene animation. Shit, Anya was even prettier in the first one.

Ye, i also think MS will lock up Gears of War 3 as well, so it will be a Xbox 360 exlucive title I would be pretty suprised if a PS3 version of Gears of War 3 comes out.

Shit...with all of the issues Gears of War 2 has, I think Epic should let this one bake in the oven as long as possible to be honest. As much as I really like Gears of War 2, the game has a plethora of problems (multiplayer related...loved the campaign).

Well good luck Cliff and the Epic folks. You set a damn high bar for you to mantle over.

But if I can make a few tiny suggestions for the next game:

- The tank in Gears 2 controlled much better, but you guys always seem to find one thing to make those sections of the game completely fucktastically annoying. In Gears 2 it was the ice. Please - give us a fun, cooperative vehicle level that doesn't seek to frustrate the hell out of us, for once.

- More sustained set piece battles please. That's what sets Gears apart from the competition, and where the gameplay really shines. Fighting for your life, expending all your ammo, and needing to move forward to grab weapons to keep up the fight against overwhelming odds. Its glorious.

- Give us more Horde. We craves it... Oh we needs it... Expanded Horde mode DLC for Gears 2 would make me weep with bloody joy.

- Not even gonna mention matchmaking. You guys already know the problems there.

Just sayin... See you again in 2010 I guess.
