I know it's Twitter but hhnnnnnnnnnnngggggg.

I don't think there's any other way you could possibly interpret this.

I don't know if it's Metroid, Donkey Kong, or something new. But whatever Retro is working on, we're going to see it in one week and I couldn't be more excited.

So, if they really show something, what's going to be?

Donkey Kong?
Metroid?
New IP?
Booker T game?

Oh fuck...Just the hint that they could be there just raised my E3 hype by 1000...

Seriously...Retro is the best, the absolute creamiest of the crop, and if they are at E3 my head might explode from pure hype.

Tropical Freeze Kiddy Kong DLC Hype!

Seriously, really excited for what Retro's going to serve. Their output has never failed me so far.

I'd prefer Metroid, or even Retro try their hands at a different IP or a new IP alltogether. If their next game is Donkey Kong, I'd be a bit disappointed, but at the same time, I'd know it would be a good game

Here's what Retro said on the topic of possibly returning to Metroid back in early 2014:

“You’re not going to find a larger bunch of Metroid of Metroid Prime fans than at Retro studios. We’ll be lucky to someday, maybe, work on another one. There’s a lot of people in the studio left over from Metroid Prime that are very passionate about Metroid… If the fans keep asking, then maybe we’ll answer.”

Anyway, I'm skeptical about the chance of Retro announcing their next project at E3 next week. While they were said to have started working on it near the end of 2013, Nintendo said it is only going to cover E3 games coming out between the restof 2015 to early 2016, possibly as far as April. I doubt Retro's game will be out in the early 2016, let alone in the first half of the year. I think Next Level Games has a better chance of making an announcement.

They always say that but they also always seem to get around it and announce a game for later than the window they stated. All they would have to do is give a tentative '2016' date for the game and technically it wouldn't be a lie (not that anyone really cares if they surprise with games that aren't coming out for a while). They can always push the tentative 2016 back later as needed, as we saw with Zelda.

That account is legit for sure right? I remember there being some doubt back when it popped up but I don't remember if there was any resolution to that. Their twitter replies are pretty cheeky, so I dunno
